The Boxster (and presumably Cayman) 982 GTS 4.0 with 399bhp has appeared in a German insurance website.......

If pdk is available it will monster the GT4 in a drag race.

I wonder what an OPC reaction is to these.

Sucking of teeth or a model you can buy.

If it’s the latter it’s killed off the Spyder market.

1% Spyder will see a track , and a 400bhp flat 6 Boxster GTS with electric roof would be the better ownership choice esp if it’s £15k cheaper. The 981,718 roof is pointless tat imo.

Might just be the best car Porsche make in 2020.

I agree here, that the positioning is going to be strange, given small difference in HP. It's the going to be purely down to chassis and handling dynamics.... 80% of people won't be able to tell the difference or even care.
I guess its the additional profit that can be extracted from the remain 20% in the GT car market then.

Interesting times...as we've seem to have just equinoxed peak drivers car.

Nice spot DC. This will be a premium product with a premium price tag, in terms of positioning the power output gives it away, hence I wouldn’t see it on a par with a Spyder or GT4, nor 15k cheaper, but can’t see them canning the existing GTS either.

Something for everyone then if you have the £... and that’s mighty close to a base 911..

I think the existing GTS will have to go - there's no room for two GTS models, surely? The new car would have had a different name if that was the case?

Lol. Tough week CM ? smile I'm just going by the dates on DC's screenshot - "2017 - heute" would presume it's still current.

Two engine choices at GTS spec (at different price points) would surely be within the realms of possibility, if, as you say, the information is accurate.

I guess we will have to wait...

Rumour from the same source - there is a possibility of a 25th Anniversary Boxster to celebrate the original 986 introduction in the original concept colour with circa 450bhp...

PDK only and partner to the GT4RS perhaps?

It's still current until the cards fall and the new car arrives and the old one is discontinued/updated in the system.

I wouldn't read anything into it.

They may produce both f4 Gts and f6 Gts for different markets! I believe I read somewhere the f4 is popular in the Chinese market!

That I don’t know, I’ve relayed all the information I have - of course as a “rumour” it may not happen at all! All down to the profit Porsche anticipate making from it and it can’t have the stratospheric price of, say a 911 Speedster would.

You know I struggled to go from my well spec'd manual GTS to a Spyder for 20K more, and my roof made sense. I think this 718 GTS with SPASM, Manual, Buckets will be a great fun road car.
