Knowing what you know now Twinfan do you recommend the mod or stick to stock?
I would do the LWFW mod every day of the week and twice on Sundays. The gear change is so slick now it's an absolute joy to do, with minimal rev drops between changes. It's genuinely fabulous driving

How it is with an uprated clutch I couldn't tell you. Would the pedal be stiffer? Some might like that I guess but as my car is now it's effortless to row through the gears biggrin

Your BCF system is an interesting design. It seems to have an always open straight-through section which has narrower pipework and doesn't mix the two banks from each side of the engine. The alternative silenced and valved section mixes the banks and also has larger diameter pipework. Most if not all of the alternative designs have a silenced section that's always open and a valved straight-through section, so the opposite of yours.

Based on that assumption, do you find the valve control isn't as dramatic as the OEM silencer? Or have I misunderstood how the exhaust is configured?
The valve controller open the valves < 4k RPM. With the BCF exhuast, I find drone at ~2k RPM with the valves open. So if I'm in a bullt up area I'd turn off the valve controller. Over 2.5k rpm it sounds fine with the valves open.

Other than that I'm very impressed with the configuration. I believe that the BCF has gone through design iterations. Definetly feel the headers now the BCF has been added. Hope this makes sense?

I have 3 components, Valve Controller, headers and rear box.

I didn't know if you'd tried it with the stock valve control? That would close them around 2k and remove the drone then open them as revs rise. It might save you faffing around with the controller.

I'm just surprised that the silenced route through the pipework is the one that's valved, it doesn't make any sense to me! However, if it works and you're happy with it then all is good smile

If you turn the controller off, it reverts to standard.

I’m on standard 718GT4 exhaust and happy enough with the sound. What I’m finding frustrating is that when I heel and toe (same with auto-blip to be certain), irrespective of revs, speed etc, sometimes you get the full sport sound but increasingly the blip is silenced. I’ve repeated this many times in search of any cause or trend without success.
I’ve tried to deliberately over-do this with a big boot-full of throttle on down changes and still get silenced mode even though you can see the rev-counter zinging round to around 6000rpm....
Any ideas?
Also, I tried the grub-screw exhaust tweak but for some reason throttle response and/or torque seemed to be reduced. Reverted to standard.

After all the delays and tweaking I now have my 9m exhaust fitted biggrin The 2k-3k range is no longer hard on the ears and head, although there is still a slight touch of boominess in that range under load if the car windows are closed. I think this is why the OEM exhaust is so silenced/restrictive - Porsche really had to quieten the car down to eliminate it. However, it's the slight trade off for a much improved volume level and overall tone, throttle response and power increase. Job done and I'm more than happy with the results. The first thing Mrs Twinfan commented on was the tonal quality of the exhaust note - it really does sound proper good now!

Mine is in inconel with carbon fibre-style tips:

Any pictures of the actual exhaust… or detail of the actual changes made?

Yep, J-pipes were added which you can see plus I don't think my PSE valves were operational when it was first fitted, which they are now:

I definitely fancy the stainless unsilenced one, for around £1500 it would be cheap enough to enjoy and swap out if it was too loud for touring/ or come MOT time if necessary

LOL, no worries, I’ll just drive faster or slower than the drone noise if I’m ever on the motorway, plus I’m fairly mutt n Geoff anyway and have the music blaring if the drive is boring. Like I said at the stainless cost it’s easy to swap out if planning a big Euro hoon.

Bring the noiseeeee
