What are you guys finding is the time between receiving the Porsche Connect activation email and actual collection?
I could have picked it up today and got the connect email last weekend so no more than 4 or 5 days if you wanted. I am away this weekend in my RS so I was happy with monday.Congratulations to those who have received / about to receive their GTS’s - thanks for the photos gents. Really exciting to see them and the specs you have chosen. Wish I had the kahunas to go for the Lizard Green - looks amazing! With apologies for being political (we’ve had enough fun the past few pages!), entertainingly, there were similarly coloured RS6s in Belfast Audi (Lizard Green and Papaya Orange?) that were dubbed the Catholic and Protestant editions 🤣 Different connotation in Northern Ireland LOL. For full disclosure, I had a Daytona Grey RS6...!
My GTS is on the boat either today or Wednesday (depending on room) alongside a friend of mines Agate Grey GTS 4.0 - both Caymans. I think they are the only two GTS 4.0 Caymans coming into NI this year from what I’m told. ‘My Porsche’ email came through two evenings ago and I’ve set up the Vodafone telematics bit too (stopping short of paying £100 for tracking until car is here). I’ve generated the code for the dealer and will be taking the tracking option as insurance insisted on it. Insurance relatively inexpensive though :-)
Keep the photos coming folks and congratulations again to those taking deliveries this week :-)

I’ve registered the my Porsche bit but didn’t see anything about a tracker? When the sales guy talked to me yesterday he mentioned that you 'you can't pay for the telemetrics until you collect the car'. I didn't think to ask what I needed to pay for lol.
Regarding the previous lizard green comments - it's a stunning colour, however, as I'm 53 I think it's for the young uns. We've played safe with night blue metallic.
Really looking forward to seeing the pictures as people start to receive their cars.

It’s a separate link. https://pcc.vodafonetelematics.com/cwp/public/welc...The Tacan, Macal and new 911’s just use one system (I’m told). The Boxter, Cayman and I’m older Porsche’s use two systems (My Porsche and Car Connect). Car Connect is run by Vodafone for Porsche (and other brands).
Register on the link above, generate a code and supply it to your dealer. They will enter that code on your car and subsequently generate another code you use for the app on your phone (for telematics I think).
Hope this helps - got this info from dealer yesterday :-)

Can't wait to see photos of your night blue GTS - I was torn between Gentian and Night blue.. The online configurator didn't really give me a great sense of what the colours looked like in real life! Much googling was done on 911's in similar colours.Regarding the previous lizard green comments - it's a stunning colour, however, as I'm 53 I think it's for the young uns. In terms of your first comment "telemetries", you are correct. You need your DVLA registration number before you can pay for the Vodafone tracking services - called 'Porsche Car Connect'. As with my last post, and link, you can pre-register an account to speed up the process and generate a code for the dealer to put in the car (and hold on file). Once the technican has entered that code, and you have your registration plate number, you can pay for the tracking services (£100 per annum).
On the second system 'My Vehicle', under the main Porsche website, you can purchase (for free..!) 'Navigation Infotainment', which enables online services for 2 years (Google Maps, Online Traffic, Map Updates etc..). You may as well select the Nav Infotainment purchase now if your vehicle is close to delivery (my dealer recommended this).

Hope this helps - I'm no expert, but think above accurate (happy to be corrected by more experienced members).

On the tracker - it might be of interest to some that Porsche insurance (or rather the broker that they use) do not require one on cars < 75K. I have seen some people say they were not competitive on price for them but they were for me. I have been insured with them for over a year on my current Cayman S.

Worth looking into - thanks. I have a multi-car policy and adding the GTS is only £326. However, with the additional £100 for the tracker, this means finding a policy that doesn't require a tracker may be of interest, and ultimately cheaper. I've been told a lot of insurers will require a tracker on cars >£65k
There's an argument that if your car is stolen, do you really want it tracked and found?! Idea being, would you want your prized car back after its been ragged to within an inch of its life - and God only knows what else....
Will looking into Porsche insurance - thanks
I’m 53 and adding my GTS to multi-car with Admiral was about the same £300 with no tracker required. They insured my 981s as well in a similar way with no tracker (even though one was installed on that one but I never paid the subs after buying it at 18 months old).
I have been rather surprised at the low cost - cheaper than the Skoda Superb on the same policy.

This. I switched to Admiral 3 weeks ago after years with Aviva with my 718 BS. They wanted £900 for the Cayman. Admiral multicar insures it for £424 a year! I have been rather surprised at the low cost - cheaper than the Skoda Superb on the same policy.

You should try NFU for your renewal quote, they were cheapest by far for high value/ high HP car and dont require a tracker. A few offices dotted around N.I.I have a multi-car policy and adding the GTS is only £326.
