Are any news cars coming thought at the moment, and is Porsche still honouring the old price like the said they would?

Ordered in August, was told Q2, can’t see that happening somehow.

I’m not sure I see an argument for spending £2k on seats that are identical to actually sit in but adjust electrically the few times you do so (and add weight in the process) vs an excellent lighting system that will make the car safer and more enjoyable to use at night.

That said, I’d scrap both and add the GTS interior package in Crayon instead… it really lifts the interior.
I'm in a similar position re seats. Can I just check that the seats are the same apart from electrical adjustment? Even lumbar support?

Cheers
No, they are not. The electric ones can be adjusted in more directions/ways.
I can’t easily drive a manual car with electric seats, due to their raised height.
At their lowest position, my hamstrings hit the seat base, before my left foot has fully pressed the clutch pedal!

Ordered a GT4 in August (signed order form with car details on it), got my build allocation week before Xmas, spec locked end of January (new order form issued with the final spec choices (which was wildly different to my provisional spec). Porsche have honoured the price from when I first ordered, saving me the £2250 price increase. My understanding is as long as it's within the model year, you will be fine. It's only if it moves into new MY the honouring of prices becomes flakey.

I ordered a Boxster GTS at the beginning of July 21 and was told an allocation was likely in Jan 22. I have just obtained an update, with a possible allocation at the end of 22, nearly a year later than was originally suggested.
If I was to do this again, I would ask my waiting list position at the point of ordering. Are build slots allocated in true sequence of ordering?

Boxster GTS currently have one of the longest lead times.

OPC wouldn't have known about this when you ordered yours.

True, but Porsche would. At any point they will know the volume of orders for specific models and lead time based on current, and potential flexed production plans. Is there a disparity between Cayman GTS and Boxster GTS lead times? If so why (assuming production is flexed in line with demand)?

Either something has changed at some point since OO02ERO ordered in July, over 7 months ago, or he was given a bum steer at the time by the OPC. If there has been a change of circumstances what, and why is it only now being communicated to customers? The best part of a year delay for a model in production suggests someone is being less than forthcoming. One thing is for certain, there would have been fewer orders taken in mid 2021 if the lead time was known to be 18 months...

Ordered mine in June, had a call before Christmas to say it’ll be built on Feb 4th, and I therefore had to lock in my spec yesterday. Car should be delivered end of first week in March. Pretty Excited.

See my other post re seats vs lights. smile
Each to their own I guess. I have bought a carbon back bucket for the driver's seat and chose the sports seats (with isofix) as I take my daughter to school every day in the car. It'll look weird to some with one of each, but I couldn't care less. The lights definitely help when pressing on over the roads where I live. If you live in a city they make less sense.

I was told in June 21 that the Boxster was at least another 3 months wait from order to build.

Yes, definitely check you can fit. I am not super tall (5'9") and I have the seat as low as they can go at the back. If you need the seats to drop low the buckets are the best option - you sit very noticeably further down.

Couldn't agree more. I went two tone leather with some other leather bits, door trim and brushed aluminium Interior package in black.

I'm sure it will be divisive! but with an Agate Grey car I think it will look quite smart.

That does look good - what colour is the brown / tan leather?

My car is Agate with Luxor interior (black dash top and steering wheel) and I think it's a great combination.

Now I'm looking at it on the laptop and not the phone, I think you might well be right. Aventurine can look very grey though.

Agate (although Aventurine was a strong contender), and 13 months. At least it's in good time for the warmer weather.

It’s heartening to see they are actually building some. I had begun to believe they were a hoax!
