To be honest, I was just wanting to take a pic contrasting a light colour with the satin black alloys.

As I was previously looking at Silver wheels but was warned off it by the Sales Exec. To be fair, he's right.

I can say, I'd test driven that car and it felt awesome.
completely disagree - i think GT silver is one of the best colours i've seen on a GTS. This spec is perfect in my opinion

That looks pretty awesome to be fair! I'm guessing those are Satin Platinum wheels?

The Sales Exec just pointed out that alot of the GTS specific details are the Black accents on the exterior. After having another look, I thought it looked a brilliant contrast to the Ice Grey metallic finish.

But that GTS does look gorgeous!

Yes, Satin Platinum wheels, GT Silver, and obviously PCCB yellow calipers. Kept the "standard" -20mm PASM rather than the "optional" -10mm PASM.

Then on the inside its two way sports plus seats with the GTS interior pack in Crayon.

For me its as close to a "GT4 Touring" as you can get...

I've still only done 1,100 miles and it was one of the first GTS 4.0's to be registered in the UK!

Now that looks lovely. Haven’t considered silver/platinum wheels but they look very nice.

More I see GT Silver more I think that’s the colour! 😍😍

Yesterday I had a call from my Porsche dealer telling me they have a slot for me as they've had a few through from Porsche!

I ordered in August 2021, expected delivery is mid September 2022. Not too bad. Unfortunately the car will be a 2023 model year so the price is up by about 2500.

Apparently I need to lock the spec in the next 2 weeks to maintain the build date.

Below is my code. Any thoughts on the spec? Anything obvious missing? The plan would be to keep the car for the long term (15 years +) so trying to future proof it somewhat - not from a value perspective, but don't want a colour or options which will prematurely age.

It's all about Carmine, good choice

This indeed looks stunning and exactly how mine will look now I’ve locked the spec. However hadn’t thought of wheel colour, maybe I should have gone for the satin with Carmine red. Anyone done this combo?

After seeing Sarlechs he's made me also think about the Satin but as the specs locked in, I'll just keep it as is.

Sigh....

I have ordered Satin wheels with Aventurine Green body.

IMHO, black wheels go well with red body

I've had my Boxster GTS for a couple of months but between getting a couple of cosmetic tweaks and work I've not had much of a chance to drive it in anger... today was the first time the weather was nice enough for a couple of hundred miles with the top down. Just cooling down before going back in the garage....

And of all the mods I've made to cars over the years this has given me the most pleasure, I hated the shifter before but it now feels so much more solid and tactile, and much more fun to shift up and down without the paddles!

Oh that is a very good mod from the PDK upturned gun thing to a manual looking stick, if I follow you correctly. Very impressive. Is that done with OEM parts?

Yes, it’s an OEM 992 GT3 PDK gear knob, the actual mechanism is identical between models. The boot is aftermarket from Suncoast parts, but I’ve seen it done with a modified OEM boot.

That is simply brilliant. Hats off to you. I reckon you'll be a trend setter with that!

I wish I could take credit for the idea. I was looking for an OEM gear knob similar to the GT4RS after seeing the Carfection review where Henry Catchpole was so taken with it and discovered a post on Rennlist where someone had already done it. The disassembly of the GT3 knob is a bit of a pain but the rest is fairly straightforward. I’ll try to find the original thread and post it tomorrow.

I don’t know why it’s not an option from Porsche, as it’s a million times better, both in form and function.

Very nice and clever mod. Might do it to my car.

How much was the GT3 part? Am guessing it was outrageous!

Here's the original Rennlist thread, complete with pics. As I say, it's all fairly easy as long as you're careful. The most difficult part is the disassembly of the original GT3 gear knob to get it onto the new boot. What the guide doesn't tell you is that you have to pry the tabs (carefully, they're not unbreakable) TWIST, then pull.

https://rennlist.com/forums/718-gts-4-0-gt4-gt4rs-...

The price is, as you might imagine, swingeing, I paid $1250 from Suncoast Parts in the US (992 GT3 PDK gear knob, alcantara boot and plastic trim part to convert the buttons that are integrated into the base of the original plastic shroud). I don't know what it would be to source the gear knob etc in the UK. Expensive yes, but it weirdly one of the best mods I've ever done from a work/feel/look good point of view.

That looks as it should have done leaving the factory, the old pdk stick looks dated now and couldn't figure out why the continued to use it after releasing the newer style in the GT3.

Certainly a mod I will look to make as it's a Porsche part it won't put me off smile

I like that mod and it looks more in keeping I think. That colour really suits the car, I had considered basalt black or adventure green but python green is definitely the colour I'll spec once I get to lock in the car. Deposit placed in Feb so shouldn't be too far off....

That looks great, i love the green and nearly went for that colour but ended up choosing Guards. Where did you get the seat centres done? The houndstooth look really stylish.

Seats cushions come from Gary at ClassicFX, they’re apparently the same material used for the OEM cushions and easy to fit in the buckets. I think the silver and black goes well with the silver belts and crayon stitching and lightens the cabin compared with the alcantara originals.
