If you are expecting to pick it up the end of this month it would have already left the factory. They tend to be sitting at the docks for 2-3 weeks before being put on a boat to come over. Mine is leaving the factory on the 26th of oct (hopefully) and won’t be ready for collection until december
I've just been told it's entered the factory compound, phew!

A friend has a Cayman with Bose and he says it was a waste of money because the car i too noisy!

According to him the Cayman reverberates the exhaust note more than the Boxster does.
It's tyre noise that you hear when you are just cruising along like with all Porsche's. Also a Boxster is definitely not quieter than a Cayman, it's the other way around.
Yes its Tyres and with my roof down its less noticeable (obviously) and in the one Cayman I have
driven it was very noticeable , I have Bose because the 981 that i given to test drive (in 2015) only had the standard one and it was useless, I dont know if its improved since then

Mine was built on 22nd September and I will pick it up on 22nd October. BOSE is fitted but not impacted by the hold. Was at the port for just over 2 weeks.

Mine is scheduled to leave factory on 18th, so fingers crossed. Noting from OPC whether Bose will be an issue, they sales guy just said they’ll have it early/mid November.

Whilst I’m really really looking forward to it arriving I’m also a bit “meh” as I won’t drive it much over winter (unless it’s a nice dry day)… they might have well hung onto it till March for me!

Yeah, I totally get where you're coming from here but if I get lucky with the tire lottery and get supplied MP4S's rather than Pirelli's I'll be enjoying it on decent days.

But I'm weird and will just like staring at it from the window and having some detailing spray on standby!

Yeah, I know, odd...

Ha, I know exactly what you mean. I had a 991 a couple of years ago and I swear I spent more time cleaning it (and appreciating it’s curves) than I did driving it!

I used to find excuses to go out into the garage and just stare at it, so I suspect I’ll be doing the same with the GTS!

Are the Pirelli’s really that bad……?….. I best keep my fingers crossed too then!

Mine came with Pirelli’s. No problem with them at all. Took delivery in July. It is a lottery but I dont think I have lost out.

I have a build slot for a Cayman GTS 4.0 in November. Just found out yesterday the LED PDSL lights are now available for the 718. Not the PDSL + as before. I have added these back to my build. But no one knows what they will look like and it does not show a picture on the updated configurator yet. Will it look like the LED PDSL + or will it look like the PDSL Xenon’s but with LED?

How could you add them back, surely the build locked weeks ago?

I see on the configurator there is now the option for the LED headlights but without the '+', so in effect they lose the auto high-beam function which is no big loss. If I had the choice I'd add them back, but my spec locked on 21/9 and my build isn't until December.

Think you're better off without the + element. I have it on my 718 and Macan. It's rubbish. Way better to dip oneself in my view.

Car ordered in Nov 2021, my build slot is end of Nov 2022. Not locked down yet

Who are you guys insured with?

Classicline has quoted £1290 (use them on my classic), Esure, Sheila's Wheels & Admiral are all around £500 but I am concerned about who the repairer may be in the event of a claim. Any other recommendations?

Decent spec . £55k with 3 days to go… where does it end…£75k ?
Ended unsold, i'm not sure it went any further than £63k? (I might have missed the very end). It didn't meant the reserve.

I believe Admiral use M&A Coachworks. Well, at least for people in and around the SE.

Same experience for me. First base Cayman came with 18" Pirellis, second base Cayman came with 18" Goodyear Eagle F1. Goodyears are better in the dry, probably not quite so good in the wet, but more than OK. Less in it than I tend to read online.

Cutting back to 20" wheels, my 981 GT4 is currently on Michelin PS Cup 2 for fine days and track days - and they are great in the dry, sketchy in the wet, hopeless in the wet and cold. So when I needed a set of "daily" tyres, no qualms whatsoever about fitting Pirelli, and 8000 miles later feeling about the same, they're alright. I could probably get round the most enjoyable roundabout on the way to work about 0.2s faster on PS4s on a dry day, but it feels difficult to care too much. Mostly rains round here anyway, and the Pirellis are at worst predictable, and at best... I actually think they're alright, on a circuit that put a lot of heat into the tyres? Might even give them a go at that, because Michelin Cup 2 tyre pressure/temperature management on a hot day is a bit of an issue.

I have a Cayman 4.0 GTS on order. Michelin, Pirelli or Goodyear? I'm not particularly fussed what they deliver it with. They all seem mainly OK. I already have a set of 718 wheels with winter tyres that will fit when it gets cold, and a set of 20" Cup 2 on 718 GT4 rims should the opportunity/need ever arise. But I'm going to bet that I wear out whatever it turns up with, and will enjoy doing so while others tell me the car would be better on some other brand of tyre.

If I was racing and looking for the last few 100ths of a second I'd care a bit more. But my take so far is that they are all pretty good as road tyres go.

My CGTS 4,0 came with Pirelli's. Two years on and 8K miles and i have no complaints with them at all. Rears will need replacing in the not too distant and I will replace like with like.
