It seems that the qtr allocations come through about 8 weeks before qtr start so some time in April. I was told 2nd quarter allocations were lower than anticipated. Another poster.....not 100% sure it was on here said the 718 production line is being moved to allow more 911 production. Maybe that's why?
Suppose if I haven’t heard anything positive by mid-late April that’s it until July so at least I’ve got an idea of when to be hoping for the call. Thanks.scrounger73 said:
Porsche have lost 2 months of 718 build time due to the relocation of production to Osnabrück to enable 911 production to increase.
In all honesty the chances of getting a BGTS now are very slim. If you do get a firm allocation and build date, put the lottery on as well.
I'm saddened to say it but I think this is the beginning of the end for the ICE 718.

I would think he would be after a manual. We did miss what looked a nice car earlier on in the week at Norwich dealership. guards red with some carbon inside. what I guess must have been GTS interior pack.
If that was the Carmine Red one at Norwich OPC (with both GTS interior packages) I managed to buy it on Monday and picked it up yesterday. Really ace car that was pretty fully loaded and I've always had a soft spot for Carmine. I got it a smidge under asking but it had a price reduction a few weeks back anyhow so I was happy with what I paid.Edited by J210 on Friday 24th February 14:27
The Crayon one at RPM looks ace but has double the miles of the one I bought, similar spec and a shorter warranty (Norwich extended it for me to Dec26).
I had half an eye on GT4's but they were also 18-20k more expensive for the spec I wanted and considering I'm unlikely to do much track work I'll take the softer ride, comfort seats and cash saving that the GTS offers me.
I'm sure it's more muted than a 981 GTS but in this day and age it's still an amazing noise! I assume these get a bit louder with mileage and seeing as mine has 6k on the clock and has bedded in a bit - it sounds great!
Bose as everyone says is just about ok. There is a lot of road-noise in the car at motorway speed so it does need cranking up a bit. I've just ordered 2x Burmester tweeters from Eurospares and I'll be swapping out the Bose ones as that is apparently a pretty straightforward pug&play swap that makes a worthwhile difference.
Lane Assist - would never have thought of ordering it from new but seeing as the car has it, it's pretty decent.
GTS interior package was a must for me and even the wife commented how nice the cabin is. I get why others don't like it and it is a rip off but for me it makes the GTS interior a little different and special from other models.
PDLS+ - I know these are hard to come by now for new orders but they seem pretty amazing not that I do a huge amount of night driving.
Carmine Red - always always loved this colour and even in dull flat winter days it's mega.
Bit annoying you don't get the passenger side auto-dip mirror when reversing unless you get the seat memory package. Seems a bit odd as I've got the folding mirrors etc.
Overall, it's everything I wanted. To get a GT4-lite manual, N/A engine, pretty fully-loaded, 6k miles and 2 years old for £67k I think is an absolute bargain. So lucky that Porsche make these things for us as they are't going to be around for long. Hope everyone enjoys theirs as much as I am mine.
Excellent, sounds like its living up to your expectations.Mine is due in a few weeks.
Some of the spec items like the mirror dipping are peculiar. Porsche are using the same Bosch controllers as most of the VW group so they must be actively removing that function then allowing it when you spec the memory pack. If they made more of them someone would probably take the time to work out how to code it back in.
Do update how you get on with the Tweeter upgrade on the Bose. I went for Bose as it offers much easier upgrade paths over the standard system, rather than it being great in it's own right.
Likewise the Lane Assist. Some of the PH Driving Gods will tell you it's uneeded because of their superior situational awareness, but it's handy when driving a RH drive car in parts of the World where they insist on using the wrong side of the road. The way its implemented is about as unobtrusive as possible too.

Not sure I would be brave enough to start modifying straight away. I just bought a new CGTS that was available rather than one I specified myself. Should be here in a few weeks but didn't appreciate some of the challenges of certain options and allocations.
Fortunately the car has most of the options I wanted plus a few more but doesn't have the illuminated carbon door sills. Not a major issue but i have been looking and i have seen a few retrofit videos but think I would have to leave that a whlle before removing seats, but then again....;)

Hi All,
I went with my father to finally lock in the spec today for his BGTS today. He (we) went for gentian blue with platinum wheels (as recommended on here) with Gts pack and a smattering of options.
He put a deposit down in sept 2021.
Can’t wait for the car now with build slot looking mid May and delivery start of June. All very exciting!
ETA - whilst BOSE is not available on the config online, it IS available on Boxster GTS now but oddly enough not Caymans…

Hi all,
has anyone on here worked out mileage wise roughly how long the GTS 4.0 engine needs a little top up of oil? I hear only put in 500ml instead of a litre when it needs it.
Just gone through this myself. New car in Aug 22, now done 4.8k miles and the message 'minimum oil level reached'.has anyone on here worked out mileage wise roughly how long the GTS 4.0 engine needs a little top up of oil? I hear only put in 500ml instead of a litre when it needs it.
Long story short, initially put 300ml in on advice of OPC to see how that measures. Ended up putting in another 200ml to make 500ml all in. Oil measure is near top and green. Spot on.

I'll try the Bose as it comes for a few weeks and do the shakedown miles to check for any delivery issues and then do it.

Not much chance for those of us only 6-8 months into the process

The oil spec you want is - Mobil 1 ESP X3 Engine Oil - 0W-40, it has a green label on the bottle rather that the normal silver label used in ordinary Porsches

I've put a litre in mine over nearly 11k miles (2 top ups), check it regularly on the move and keep a litre in the car just in case.

I feel your pain @JurassicGTS, but I also now feel slightly less guilty for ordering a GTS 4.0 when I'd only had my 2.0 718 Cayman for 10 months from new. Looks like it might get to over 2 years old before I replace it.Not much chance for those of us only 6-8 months into the process
The other pain of the wait is not knowing what might be available in terms of spec when we finally get to lock anything down. The lack of Carrara white troubles me a little. I know it's a bit boring, but my last 3 Porsches have been Carrara white; the idea of being any more adventurous and choosing a different colour fills me with quiet horror! Might have to go PTS Peridot with a black rear wing to help kill the urge to own a 987 Cayman R...

My lock date iS the end of the month, but my build has been with My OPC for the last 4 weeks. But this week I was told i could not have speed limit display. So it seems Porsche use allocated orders booked to forward plan builds and are fully transparent on what is or is not available on a ljve basis. The other pain of the wait is not knowing what might be available in terms of spec when we finally get to lock anything down. Thanks for the reply, I really like the two colour Sport-Tex combo it looks very classy it's a shame it's not available as that would be my first choice.
I think the blue leather is probably my best option but i would like the constrast stitch which is extra ££, as opposed to the black & crayon leather combo.
I just think perhaps silver & blue outside with black and crayon leather might look disjointed.
On the silver did you go GT Silver or Dolomite? The Dolomite looks a little bluer but again it's just more ££ at every turn.
Cheers
Ed
Yeah, GT Silver. If you get the chance, just pay the extra for the contrast stitching, you only live once and it will look superb!I think the blue leather is probably my best option but i would like the constrast stitch which is extra ££, as opposed to the black & crayon leather combo.
