I still think the interior GTS pack is what makes the car special?
I agree, Alcantara and contrast stitching is the GT3/GT4/GTS thing. However, in this specific case this is more than just a GTS spec car - it's almost a model in its own right due to the engine and gearbox combo. I think that's why Porsche have given it so many options and colours.

Now had quotes on both Boxster and Cayman. All else being equal the Cayman is c. £100pm less.

I suspect some will buy this car, not because they want a GTS specifically, just that they want the engine. Previously you bought the GTS because you preferred it to the S Now there will be people buying because they don't want the F4T, but who would have been just as happy with a 718/6 S - and might even resent having to pay extra for bits they don't actually want. However, in this specific case this is more than just a GTS spec car - it's almost a model in its own right due to the engine and gearbox combo. Thanks for your comments, have subsequently updated a couple of things to give:
http://www.porsche-code.com/PLMK4EW4
Have added the leather at at £1242 and done away with the other bits
Just be careful - for the same price you can have 'Black leather Interior with extensive items in Alcantara', which would be my choice, or 'Black leather Interior with extensive items in Alcantara; seat centres in smooth finish leather' If you are an Alcantara enthusiast, you may not like the latter. You also get stuck with seat ventilation for £657. Never really understood that one either - are we talking about fart extraction?http://www.porsche-code.com/PLMK4EW4

I see now, illuminated sun visors. That makes sense for exactly the reasons you gave. Thanks.
I know you are not planning it, but I have never been able to get my head round £2,096 for the GTS interior. Coloured rev counter, and some stitching. The expression 'tart's drawers' comes to mind. Maybe someone else can explain it.

The problem with leather seats is hot in summer (hence ventilation), cold in winter (hence heating) and slippy all the year round. Give me alcantara or cloth (call is Sportex if you want) any time.I've placed a deposit for a Boxster. Reckon the Alcantara GTS interior will retain value better than leather? I like leather and it might be more practical in an open-top car. Even Alcantara can get a bit sweaty when it's really hot.
I'm going for Guards on the basis that there are too many dark colours around, especially greys and blacks (including my current cars) and I want something nice and bright. Ideal would be Miami but for 1600 quid? I am tempted by Racing Yellow though...

You also get the carbon ash/door pack as part of the GTS interior. It's a nice way to lift the interior from a bland and drab all black, plus it's unique to the GTS.It's tricky on this car though because it's not just a GTS, so the GTS things are potentially a bit less of a priority this time around.

Power Steering Plus - does that not just make it easier at slow speeds? I doubt if you need help parking
I am very reliably informed that the power steering plus does not just make the steering easier at parking speeds, which is all most people think it does, but also improves feel at higher speeds and is therefore very worth having. It is only a software tweak, and can be retrofitted (at a price) or removed later if wished.

I put a deposit down in January and I am no 6 in the queue at my OPC,they have I slot in may and none in June. Does anyone know any dealers with shorter waiting lists?
They can’t give me any idea when I will get delivery.
The model year changes in August, so there may be advantages to having a later build slot, more options, higher specification. I would also like to think Porsche GB will allocate future build slots to the centres with highest demand ie deposits placed, so moving might not be the best thing to do.They can’t give me any idea when I will get delivery.

What are people’s thoughts on PPF, Zunsport front grills and JCRs titanium exhaust on the GTS 4.0?
- PPF - no, but I hate PPF
- Zunsport front grills - yes, to prevent damage to the condensors but be aware of future extended warranty implications
- JCRs titanium exhaust on the GTS 4.0 - no, too expensive

Yes to PPF from me, no to the rest. The self healing stuff is great. It’s not just stone chips. A bird **** on my bonnet proper set like concrete would definitely have etched the paintwork regardless of ceramic coating etc. Initially the etch showed on the PPF but after 2 mins with the hair drier was perfect again.
I would add that it’s a bit colour dependent mind and only bother with high contact areas
