I have a deposit down and just went back on the configurator.

With options my spec has gone from £77k to £83k, except I can't get my spec.

Aventurine green is gone, I'm nonplussed about the remaining colours and can't get excited about a colour I don't want.
The only way to get an alcantara wheel and gear knob is with the basic spec with plastic dash.
Same with painted interior trim.
The new standard wheel is dreadful part carbon, multifunction, heated playstation variety yuck

I could buy a spec I don't want and then pay £6k for a wrap making it £90k car. I see a LOT of cancelled orders on the horizon but reading between the lines I think this is what Porsche want, to hasten the end weeping

The 718 GTS is literally the last NA, manual, ICE 2 seater sportscar available along with the MX5. This is literally the end of an era frown

So after a two year wait and almost a year without a Porsche I finally picked it up yesterday. Couldn’t be happier, for a minute I thought my 240i was the best thing since sliced bread. But I remember what I like so much about Porsche.

Really happy with how the spec turned out. Pretty individual and won’t be to everyone’s tastes. Definitely not a GTS spec but I absolutely adore it. Now I just need the sun to come out.

It’s very high spec, full leather, extended leather, carbon interior, knob and sills. Cooled seats and pretty much everything else ticked

That looks very much like Porsche Solihull? Although I know many OPC's look alike?
I picked mine up in January this year, straight to PPF and then storage. Just took it out last weekend, so mileage still under 100! Must get some miles on it before summer!

Good work on the mileage, and well done on not following the hivemind when it comes to spec. It looks great clap

Mine (Cayman GTS) is hopefully on the boat tomorrow. Keen to get it and get some miles covered as a trip to the Isle of Man in early May really needs all the available performance.

Also looks like a £4600 increase in base price and a bump on all options.

Loss of deviated stitching options as well by the look of it.

I’m really disappointed- my spec is now ruined due to unavailable bits and I’m being asked to pay a lot more for less.

Having waited since march 22 and no allocation on the horizon I’m wondering about what to do.

Do I just draw a line under it and get a z4 m40i which I could buy today for 30k less? The pantomime of allocations over the last year just feels like a real p-take now. A used gts is likely to be silly now for nearly new and over list which would stick in my throat.

Yep pretty rubbish. I still have no allocation, I wanted Aventurine. Car now over £80k for my basic spec, and no paint that I wanted. I think I’ll be cancelling and getting deposit back.

I think you can still get a used car with a decent saving over the new base price + £2K first year road tax

You're not far from me then. I'm based in Meriden and use Solihull OPC.

A used car wont be 'my car' that I have specced to keep forever though. I have had 30 years of owning used cars and now want a new one I can call my very own that's special to me. Seems I have missed the boat for an NA, manual sports car.

The state of that new multi function steering wheel...doesn't fit the aesthetic of the rest of the car.

Not necessarily. I just pulled together a list of must have options and colours I would like and then called around the OPC networks. After just 2 weeks I was offered a car with a higher specification and in one of my colours - that process just started earlier this month and the car has just arrived. My car was a Cayman GTS which was planned for the showroom but they also had a Spyder available so just swapped them around and sold the GTS. Each OPC will be in a different position with allocations/cancellations etc so start calling!

That is absolutely stunning man. I'd have done the same as you and gone the "non GTS" spec. You really can make them look a million dollars.

Enjoy.
