Twinfan I subscribe to the less is more when adding on extras and something like a Gt4 only needs buckets adding for the driving experience! So in essence you could say that particular Gt4 is at overs because most of the extras added will not give you any more value come resale.
Some of us don't buy and spec cars with resale in mind. Mine has as much tat in it as a tart's handbag and I wouldn't have specced it any other way. I really appreciate a good cabin, it makes the car far more special for me and I enjoy it all the more. The interior is what you see when you drive it, and I drive mine as much as I can.Twinfan said:

I wasn’t angling at that I was merely pointing out that all a car like a GT4 needs is buckets for the driving experience. How you spec. a car new is personal. But an OPC when ordering a car in will chuck a load of frivolous extras on to load up the price as I believe they get some extras free for more profit. So when I order a new cars extras I am looking for parts that add to the driving experience not the resale ie buckets and lights.
But with resale in mind a car specd to say £100k new may have no more value after 3 years than a new car costing £90k in the second hand market.

Take a look at the price of a base spec cayman, they’ll be making plenty of profit on that. The GT4 will be the most profitable car in the range.
The Base-to-S spec Caymans make Porsche their money through high-volume sales. The GT4 has enough bespoke components on it to justify the jump in purchase price - and the point I was trying to make is that I struggle to see how Porsche recoups the model-development / bespoke-component costs given the small numbers of GT4's produced.
I don't think there's much bespoke to be honest other than the rear wing, rear suspension assembly and cage if you have CS?
Front bumper, rear valance all shared with the Spyder (for 718 definitely, not sure for 981). Engine shared with the Spyder for the 981 and also the GTS for 718. Buckets are from the 991 series 911s and and 981 GT4 and Spyder. All the interior options are shared across most models, just the additional use of alcantara in a few places. Front end including brakes is lifted from the 991 GT3 on both GT4s, shared with the Spyder on 718s. Rear brakes also from the GT3.

Went out in it for 2 hrs today with a friend in his 997.1 GT3 and well, it’s pretty bloody spectacular.
Handling feels bang on, engine is strong and it sounds bloody lovely.
Only one small issue though, brakes feel a bit wooden, are RS29 pads still the go to for steel discs? Any recommendations for where to get some at a decent price?
Otherwise, what a thing…
Just enquired about this stunning Viper Green PTS one.
