I still think that's a solid price considering what's going on ATM
Average advertised price April 2019 was £81k, with the better ones at £86k (I scrolled back through this thread to check). This makes this £20k behind the values this time last year - 23% depreciation in a year.

great track buy that, NO PCM or even a radio.
but a nice project track hack.
these are starting to look good value again sub £60k with less than 10k miles.
Particularly when you think how inexpensively the biggest gains can be found .... and all reversible ...but a nice project track hack.

David, if you were going to spend £5k on a 981GT4, how would you spend it ?

True, but with the PCM and radio 'issue' I guess take £5k of those prices and average 2019 values don't really mean much now IMO.This makes this £20k behind the values this time last year - 23% depreciation in a year.
I think Ashgood's have caught the market napping and some 'better' spec ones may well be lucky to fetch similar money the second half of 2020.

Don't think that quite right...you need direct comparables, like for like... and not just the average market prices.. else you can make the numbers say whatever you like. This makes this £20k behind the values this time last year - 23% depreciation in a year.
The only thing this car really had going for it was the low mileage.
Its not track spec out of the box, as it's not clubsport, and then as first thing you'd probably need to do, if you want to run on track a lot, is ditch the PCCBs for something more cost effective.
This time last year - that car may have been low to mid 70k at best.... in fact you'll find that loads of cars with more congruent options - ie typical track spec or typical road spec, with average mileage..i.e used... would have been easy mid 70's asking price... highest specced combined with low miles would have been into the £80's.
This car isn't one of those...it had 2 expensive options... Buckets and PCCB.
I don't think this car went for full asking... so if this car last year was £72k and this year its gone for £63k, then thats 9k...not 20k.
Still, it's a clean example for someone to paint their expression upon, congrats.

Hands free phone can be quite useful, I'm guessing no radio means no speakers, perhaps even no wiring ??
Nope, I suspect there'll be nothing relating to the PCM fitted to the car.Ashgoods have always been good on prices. I’ve seen them sell other GT4s at this time for more. So i suspect the car needed to go quickly.
That looks easily a £75k list price car and doubt it has any services. I think £66k is low.
The GT silver, ceramics, leather, (and yellow stitching) and buckets all present. I think the buyer has got the Porsche deal of the year.

I suspect the GT4 owner wants a completely 'offline' driving experience....no PCM...no radio....no mobile.
I know I don't need sat nav for my drives as I've already got my route planned out. If I get lost, a quick look at phone to get back on track. Getting lost used to be fun BTW. Anything to avoid a centre console screen.
Would be different for a daily driver but not many GT4's are.
As long as the fan blows some hot or ambient temperature air the driver will survive...
I agree with above and think the buyers got a great deal.

If it hasn't had the two services it should have had then it probably can't get an extended warranty now or in the future? That, along with the spec, must make the potential buyer pool pretty small.
Someone must have really wanted that car.
Given the mileage… probably would be easy to get extended warranty. Someone must have really wanted that car.
I think the criteria to get it back in is to own for 6months and service at OPC… and get all the checks done.
Also there is the Covid-19 extension for servicing.

bit of a tight spend, I would want adjustable toe links, a full geo, manifolds, with a remap and dsc. Really it’s £8k for the full 430bhp
Set 2 piece disks and better pads.
Dsc module, or ttx shocks.
And the stage 2 RSS kit with full geo.
Bbs wheels
Bbi wing risers.
Lite blox battery
Set of light weight seats.
Lightweight FW
For £5k what would you do after knowing what you know on yours.

Isn't it 3 months? Having missed the 2 year service might be an issue though, the rule you quote is for servicing outside the OPC network?I think the criteria to get it back in is to own for 6months and service at OPC… and get all the checks done.

Sounds to me what might be interesting, would be some sort of equivalent Manthey K400 kit that was available on the 996 GT3, ie something proven, standardised and recognised ??Really it’s £8k for the full 430bhp

I could see me maybe being up for that.

Porsche will simply require a major service and 111 point check.
I’ve been through it on a very low mileage 997.2 with no OPC service history ever. Getting a warranty will be fine.
Even with no service history at all, not just no OPC servicing? The car potentially hasn't had an oil change in 4 years and has been sat in a garage.I’ve been through it on a very low mileage 997.2 with no OPC service history ever. Getting a warranty will be fine.

A good cheap mod would be the GT4 Schroth set of Harness in the classifieds
They're designed to fit a Clubsport car which has the appropriate mountings in the firewall and chassis. I don't think you can fit them to a non-CS car easily, you'd be better off buying a harness bar and appropriate matching harnesses.Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
