I agree that yellow one at £63K looks real good value for a nice road spec car and good to see these are are holding their value well compared to some cars
As predicted the yellow car didn't hang around at that price. Had a chum interested but sold straight away. Based on prices and sales a 981 GT4 isn't going to be £50k anytime soon.

Note: Perhaps a Mod could revise the thread title to include 981 so as to deconflict with 718 discussions?

Looking at a GT4 (amongst other possible cars). Looking for black with carbon seats. The ones advertised are sold; are people holding on to them now summer is arriving?

The ones without carbon seats seem to be sticking around; presumably they are a “must have” for resale? Any other must have options?

The magical '4 cs' of climate chrono carbon and coloured stitching+extended leather always sell well.

I was looking at a 2016 (65 plate)
Club sport
Extended leather
PDLS
PCM + phone
Buckets, cage
Steel brakes
DAB
Mileage in the teens
Sensible colour combo

Price was early to mid £60s
Being traded in.

Could not get my head around if it was a good price or not

Thoughts ??

Well if production will stop eof year as rumoured then they will become more sought after IMO.

We're talking 981s here smile

There's a house of cards in the Cayman hierarchy, everything is propping up everything else.

Trade or retail sale?

OPC or quality Indy or Indy?

Owners and history?

UK car?

Road use tracked or heavily tracked?

Original paint and overall condition?

Warranty?

All affect the price.

There are hardly any of those in the UK, let alone for sale privately!

Eary to mid 60s for a good spec CS is a goodo price point.

Look on AT there are some 981 cars in PTS etc £70k+ including the 'Hero Spec' that has no spec (and I mean no radio/PCM) although you do get carbon seats!

Five of the seven available at OPCs are £72,995 or more so it seems to be par for the course price wise rather than very strong money. scratchchin

Yep - I noticed the same for OPC asking prices. If you have a decent spec 981 GT4 or Spyder with even average miles that will meet OPC criteria, then you can still get good money - as the model is still sought after for various reasons, just like 991.1 RS

On the buying side:

Private or Non-OPC prices will be lower and probably the majority of 981 GT4 for sale are in this space now.
So its as it ever was... you pay more for the convienence of an OPC car fully warranty backed - no questions asked.

I was thinking of the wider market, not just that specific car. As TDT explains, they're clearly holding their value very well smile

I’d like to buy a black gt4 with carbon seats privately, but they just aren’t coming up. Shame people trade them when a private sale would make the vendor a bit more and save the buyer a bit too!

No chance I'd sell my £60k+ car privately - but each to their own...

I would sell mine privately if I could when the time comes to it. It has an opc warranty that would be transferable. I would hope that would help. Not sure if/ when I would sell though and I don’t know what I would like to try next.

Why not?

I bought my GT4 last Nov privately. Very easy deal,
Viewed car and it was just what I wanted,
Agreed price
Seller took car to OPC for fresh MOT and 111 check ( which we agreed to go 50/50 on) total cost was £150 for both
I issue , brake duct pice was replaced and paid for by seller
Car, keys, paperwork left at OPC
I transferred money
Collected car next day form OPC and seller met me there
Bought a 2 year warranty form OPC once existing warranty ran out 2 months after purchase

Enjoying it and seller took delivery of his 718 Spyder

Both happy
