Last autumn was a different world to where we are now. August car trade figures will be up on Julys ££.
Really your crystal ball might not be working, prices are already softening across the car market, and there does seem to be a lot of 718 gt4s sitting around unsold!
My crystal ball says below list by Xmas!
No chance whatsoever.

Only 17 OPC cars with no decent spec bucketed sub 3k mile sub 12 month old cars less than £95k i.e £11k over list. Several cars have sold in the last week alone over £100k.

981 GT4s are well above list too for even 6 year old decent spec cars with mileage and these as ever will support higher level 718 GT4 prices with warranties.

WBAC have increased their bids again this last week on most cars across most price brackets including high end. This reflects their confidence in rising prices being obtained in the trade in BCA which is the true market bellweather.
Wrong. First offer drop for a year from WBAC this week on my CR. I am sure there are exceptions to the rule, but it seems we are at peak craziness now, prices are slipping back slightly. The right car/spec will stay stable and perhaps buck this downwards trend that has started of last week. Google news reports on the subject, many many news reports on it this past week.....the market is now in decline. Below list by Xmas, certainly.

All guess work on pricing. People really should back up their discussion with real examples.

Not true I have been tracking a couple of cars over last month and this week although only small is the first decrease, also someone else on a different post noted the same for a 987CR.
To add talking to someone recently in the trade(finance) the consensus is further softening of prices by October as supply increases

WBAC just upped their bid on my minimal spec March 2020 GT4, now £8k over what we I paid, which was full list…. Not for sale btw, but it is getting tempting!

Anyone who thinks they can see a major change of market direction from a single inflection point is either supremely insightful or supremely overconfident.

Funny you should say that, I've plenty of examples, i've a simple spread sheet looking at used 718 GT4 prices vs their spec'd up list price. it started as a little project when stuck in a hotel room for covid quarantine back in Jan, now it's got over 100 cars that have appeared on OPC websites since. The market is softening & coming off the boil, but not by much (1-3k) & cars are taking longer to shift. Also price drops are reappearing as opposed to a few OPC increasing the advertised prices in May/June. So with some more new cars coming along, the end of summer, etc, it's likely/probable that the trends will continue.

Good you’ve done this, but without real examples it’s one word against another.

Exactly but they invariably don't.

Just like my request yesterday from GRD 72 requesting a link to the alleged car.

Unsurprisingly nothing forthcoming from him.

Clearly there is a major reason why. hehe

What I seem to be seeing is a stop to the ...."put a car up for sale then increase the price a few weeks later" vibe

Wow… punchy pricing from RPM! Hope they do well with that.

I know that car, and the previous owner that commissioned the CW&P mod for the car …. He liked it.

Yes indeed! The major reason is that I've more to do than send you links about a car from last autumn (please re-read my postsmile) which I simply referenced to highlight the way the market softened last year from summer to winter (hardly rocket science when we are talking about 2 seater sports cars) and IMHO similar is perhaps starting to happen this year.

This is just my option, based on advertised (& obviously not sold) prices at OPC's over the last few months, some examples :
- Python green, 400 mile example at teeside, originally listed for £93,940, price dropped twice to £91,640.
- Red 2,500 mile example at Colchester, originally listed at £89,900 now reduced to £87,500.
- Gentian blue example just sold at Perth OPC, originally listed at £96,900 reduced twice to £94,900 and sold a few days ago.

But like I said, just my humble opinion, I may be wrong, you may not agree, neither phases me one little bit - I'm just adding to the discussion. But there are always cars that stand out as bucking the trend as such as the car that appeared a few days ago at Perth OPC, 2,800 miles, Python green with buckets and not much else, £11k over approximate OTR list....... If they get full asking price then I guess I'm way out!!

Edit - But also just appeared is a Mar '20 Black car, £97,900 at Colchester with awesome spec (club spot, ceramics, buckets, +++) for a few hundred less than list, the best priced OPC car by a country mile at a few hundred below list.

I’d be interested to hear about the history of the car. I sadly wrote my GT4 off a few weeks ago and am looking for a replacement. I’m nervous of the mods v manufacturers warranty so would need a comprehensive RPM T warranty.

I think if you spoke with RPM, something could be worked out ref warranty or after sales support.
They fitted the MR arm kit and CW&P to this car and have sold it last year and it’s returned to them for sale again this year, and from the pics looks in very good condition still. The MR arm kit for 981 is basically 991.1 RS arms and parts anyway… so OEM and some OPC have sold cars on as approved with this kit installed.
And you’d have to think RPM will stand behind their own CW&P solution.
It’s on for a little bit more than it was last year… but the market is hotter than it was last year to that drives the pricing somewhat.

Thanks, appreciate it. I’m sure the warranty side of it would be relatively easy to sort. On closer inspection, the front looks a little lower than stock due to the mods. It’s a shame the market is so hot at the moment, as my insurance payout was pretty much what I paid this time last year, which of course is not quite where prices are today. RPM seem like a great bunch, I visited a few months ago.

The ride height of the car will likely be due to the camber, which naturally will lower with increasing neg.
I’m pretty sure the height of the spring perches will be within OEM spec and not lower…

Aha, thank you. Makes sense. Presumably that either improves turn in or cornering stability?
