Instead of a 718 which I was looking at , picked up a 981 3.4S with PSE and Sports Chrono it sounds amazing :-)
Not much in it at the top of the 981 ££ bracket and bottom of the 718 bracket.
Even offered 42 for a 981 GTS at auction last week but i think it went for 45 ish.
just found it, quite a mark up if so https://www.furnesspark.co.uk/used-cars/11496911-p...
Yeah very little chance at that price! Not much in it at the top of the 981 ££ bracket and bottom of the 718 bracket.

Was worth a punt via a proxy bid, I think if i was allowed in the auction hall it may have been a different (higher) bid !And congrats on the 981.
In terms of an update I think I will be going for an electric company car (Tesla 3 or Polestar 2) waiting 6 months and then looking at getting a toy instead of trying to compromise with one vehicle as I had been. This means the budget will probably drop to circa £20-£25k but I can maybe consider something more special now it will be having less mileage put on it as I tend to do 12k per annum for work/business.
If I go for the Tesla it will be the standard model as I am concerned if I pay extra on top of my allowance to upgrade to the performance then it will make whatever toy I get seem very slow and I still want it to feel special.
It also means I can probably stick 50% down as a deposit rather than a small amount I was going to do now so it makes a lot more sense all round upon reflection.

Not a bad decision I think. I've got a Tesla model 3 as my everyday car and a 981 Spyder as my weekend toy, so totally different machines and IMO both brilliant in their very different ways. An electric daily will really make you appreciate an ICE toy - make sure that you get something interesting as a good contrast! Quick word on performance, picking up on your comment above, I've got the performance Tesla and it certainly is very fast, far quicker in a straight line than the Boxster, but nowhere near as special, and the handing and brakes feel poor (on the Tesla) in comparison. In short, for me, the performance advantage in the electric car doesn't detract in any way from the advantages that the ICE car has - they're just too different and ideally suited to their different uses. If I go for the Tesla it will be the standard model as I am concerned if I pay extra on top of my allowance to upgrade to the performance then it will make whatever toy I get seem very slow and I still want it to feel special.

No PSE, No PTV and no manual box mean it's not the best for me. The rest is pretty nice and my first one was Agate grey!hotpowner said:
Not a bad spec at all. I'd trust Mark at Stirling's to deliver a good car.Its a nice car but its priced accordingly... The one I saw was £8k less after negotiation!
