Like some others here I actually think it looks great- and with the hounds tooth seats etc far more interesting than the usual bland spec.
I’m not quite sure how anyone choosing the spec they want drifts into it being a ‘vanity project’ or simply being the car they fancy ordering !
Yes, very true, good point well made. I’m not quite sure how anyone choosing the spec they want drifts into it being a ‘vanity project’ or simply being the car they fancy ordering !
I think going that far off the spectrum into another brands colour, coupled with mileage, loosely (admittedly very loosely) says to me it was a bit of a vanity project…however you make a good alternative perspective on it.
My build should be complete next Monday, if there are no further changes.
Getting very excited now.
Mine will be quite basic compared to others; black, no buckets (school run car), PDK, reverse camera and LEDs, plus a few other options.
Will probably go for PPF locally, sticker front number plate and that’s it.
As a first Porsche, it’s been a good experience so far.

I know there are a couple of other threads on number plates, but I dont see the answer to my question so am gonna ask it - for the front sticky plate, my OPC has said he can source... BUT I have asked him for a smaller one 12"x3" as I have seen others on here try... do you / does anyone know if the OPC will oblige to my demands or will i need to source the sticky plate for front elsewhere and pass it to them to apply before i pickup? I also want to get a 13"x4.4" for the rear (normal, screw on) but also am not clear if OPC can do it or need to source myself... Getting very excited now.

Note I have asked my OPC for clarification but as usual getting zero response!
Sadly mine has to go and now advertised on here for sale.

Open to sensible offers, as I’m after a super low mileage / low owner 991.1 gt3 rs with lift, 918 buckets, extended leather in violet if anyone has one hidden in their garage 🤓

I'll be surprised if your OPC would supply / fit anything but DVLA approved sized plates, mine wouldn't. Note I have asked my OPC for clarification but as usual getting zero response!
Just make sure they don't screw the plates and use sticky pads so that when you get home you can remove them and fit your own. Exactly what I did.

My OPC wouldn't supply a sticky plate, so picked up the car without a front plate on it (it fell off as they moved the car into the hand over bay!) Got a sticker one put on the front once my PPF had been applied. Sticker plate itself only cost under £15 from memory and rear plate was supplied by OPC Note I have asked my OPC for clarification but as usual getting zero response!
Got my sticker front plate from here, its 464mm x 95mm https://proplates.co.uk/collections/stick-on-numbe...

Mine won't. I also requested them make me up a sticky plate but they also declined. They will only supply plastic plates. He has said they won't screw the bumper though and it'll be left in the boot/frunk for me to put on as I wish.BTW, my car is sadly still sat at Emden awaiting shipping. BTW, anybody here waiting for a black car that's also sat at Emden? My SA says the two GT4's he's waiting for are both sat there, but the black one has been there about a week longer than mine.

mine's black but as far as I know is still on the production line... but tbh with the lack of transparency on what on earth is going on, i wouldn't be at all surprised to find i get a call saying the car has just arrived at the dealer - who knows. I'll just sit and wait until I get the call - could be days, weeks or months... nobody seems to know
Thats exactly what Exeter told me is happening. "Dont be surprised if it just turns up"..... kmpowell said:

How long has yours been there?

Does anyone else have an allocation for the end of the year for GT4 and any insight if there are any changes due for 23 model year cars?
Yes I do. MY23 changes are already on the configurator.
Arctic Grey added.
Parking sensors with camera and cruise control now standard.
Slight price increase.

15th/16th, so about the same time by all accounts. The black GT4 my SA is also waiting for has been there just over a week longer.
Ours should be coming on the same boat.Has your dealer indicated delivery date?
I have a build month of September for my GT4 but haven't frozen the spec yet. I have just noticed that yellow stitching is not an option on the configurator any more which is a bit of a bind as I was basing my colour scheme around yellow stitching. I think they have also added another overall car colour - Arctic Grey I think. I suppose we are into 2023 models now, if they are still making GT4s next year.

Nope, he said shipping is all over the place at the moment and my car hasn't even been allocated a shipping date yet, and nether has the black one that has been there a week longer than mine. He said that once it's on the boat it is normally 2 weeks until I can take delivery.
Just had confirmation that my car is on the boat sheerness bound!Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
