I’m also going Arctic Grey for the new car. And also hoping it will be a rarer colour being so close to the presumed end of production. My slot was actually a PTS slot but went with Arctic.

Last one was Crayon and did look amazing in the metal and got a LOT of compliments from even non-car people and family. Definitely couldn’t go wrong choosing that either.

What is the general lead time between getting an allocation and delivery of the car? I have had an update from my OPC that I should expect an allocation in January.

My OPC just updated me to say my spec locks next Wednesday so I’ll decide what colour over the weekend. I am leaning towards Arctic Grey now though based on viewing more pictures and the reassurance from the comments above.

I received my allocation in May and the car is due to be in my hands by the end of September.

my allocation was back in Dec, spec locked end of April, and I still am not sitting in my car... (pickup 1st Sep...).
I think its incredibly random what you might end up with in terms of timing... so many variables at play. One thing's for sure... you have zero control so just sit and wait! I would put the spread for a jan allocation at aug-sep.

As Wilson says, so many varying factors in play this year.

As an example, my spec locked end of Jan, but I encountered 3mth of delays due to the ongoing parts supply issues and the factory working on a JIT basis. It was delayed for over month before entering production, then pretty much another whole month of it sat in production simply awaiting parts. Then there were delays at the ports. It all meant I didn't end up getting the car until the 2nd week of July.

One thing is for sure, the dates on the system are wrong/ambitious at best, and nobody (OPC's, Porsche GB, not even the Factory) knows the true status of a car. You will just have to sit tight and wait. Until it's gone in production I wouldn't even bank on getting a car.

Seems like some more delays. My October GT4 build now pushed back 2 months. Found out a few days ago. Could well be next year before car arrives. Still should be well worth the wait.

Hi.
My deposit was placed at the end of January this year.
Picking up the car on 2nd September from OPC Portsmouth.
Nice seven hour train ride to get there.

Just happened to walk by Porsche Mayfair- they had a lovely crayon GT4 in the showroom, it had a good spec,23 k of options, buckets, ceramic brakes, was a manual, listed for 103k - what surprised me was it appeared absolutely brand new stock, just had a look online at their website and no sign of it….

A one-off car built in Japan by PEM, not for sale.

I was made aware of someone being offered a brand new gt4 which a Uk dealer had in stock, un registered car, zero miles which they happily sold to him for list.

Apparently the car was ordered for showroom stock!

Lucky someone but no way that was ordered for showroom stock - there would be no need - perhaps the original customer didn’t like the colour in the flesh !

Only going by what I’ve been told, owner has the car. He also has a spyder. No reason for him to lie.

I asked for my new gt4 build November 2021, ordered it there and then paid deposit of 5k and it was delivered new early March 2022. Cars are available, remember the hype drives the market. I’ve sold mine now as it was to low on the front for me personally. Wasn’t a easy sell, shark blue pdk, buckets, extended leather plus other stuff. Ended up selling to a opc due to the amount of messers, dreamers and brokers / dealers with no money to actually physically buy the car off me. I was fed up with the amount of SOR offers. The dealer who bought the car directly off me had already been offered my car buy two brokers I’ve never even spoken to for a lot more than I wanted !

On the look out for a nice low miles 991.1 gt3rs in ultra violet with lift, buckets and a extended porsche warranty if anyone knows a private seller keen to sell.

thought your spec would have sold easily, unless you meant wasnt an easy sell to make a good profit flipping?

The margins the OPCS want to make on these cars is massive, far more than a none GT car. People forget this when they see opc sale prices.

Car was sold due to it being near impossible to get in and out of my home garage due to the approach angle, I had to have special ramps made just to get in and out which became a chore and took away the enjoyment. I ended up selling to a opc who I have recently sold other cars to.

The amount of time wasters, dreamers, messers was unreal. I have sold other nearly new none gt Porsches much quicker and easier. I even had jealous people sending me messages complaining I was selling with only 460 miles on the clock in 4 months of ownership ??

Has it put me off GT ownership, maybe a little but I will dip my toe in once more and see if I can get a nice private sale 991.1 gt3rs

So did you advertise at list as I am sure a private sale would have happened? If not did the OPC offer more than list or was it SOR?
Genuine question because are OPCs offering more then list on the gt4/spyder as trade ins/ out right purchases?
