Down from £95k as reality sets in , its £85k to £87.5k on a good day in my humble opinion and I hope it finds a good home .
We were £5k apart in the end for a car that was originally supplied by Porsche Wolverhampton . I spoke to the Salesman
when buying my GTS about the car and he claimed to have a vague memory of the previous owner wanting too much money
for her and a deal not being reached . Presumably the Owner had ended up at Porsche Edinburgh and I wonder what he got there .

Really keen to get back into a 718 GT4, ideally a low-mileage 2023+ car. After PDK, but not too fussy on seats—happy with either comfort or buckets, just as long as it has full leather.

Open to most colours, so if anyone’s thinking of moving one on, please give me a shout.

Unbelievably I only had my first up close look at a Spyder last week . In a sort of Purple colour it was a striking looking thing .

It's going to be very interesting to see where this 230mile basic(ish) spec car ends up this afternoon...

https://www.iconicauctioneers.com/2020-porsche-cay...

Estimate seems, IMO, very high money at £78,000 - £85,000 (+ buyer's premium of 12.5% plus VAT)

The interesting thing about this is it didn't meet reserve when it went through them last year with 113 miles on the clock...

https://www.iconicauctioneers.com/2020-porsche-cay...
It finished at £65k+fees, so that's £74,750 for a basic colour/spec 2020 car.

I wonder if it met reserve, I guess well find out in a few days...

The newest 718 GT4’s are approaching 2 years old & a fair chunk of depreciation will have been applied now imo

Also the general market has been horrific but looks like prices have stabilised and even moving up a bit

There are still only a handful of low mileage late registered high spec versions about

I think unless sellers are keen to move to a different car the sellers won’t be giving these cars away lightly

They are a great keeper imo

As always I think you are spot on with what you are saying . Personally I buy a car to enjoy often on a daily basis and when I see a low
mileage car its manna from heaven as far as I am concerned .
Python Green cars as far as I am able to ascertain , don't fetch a premium over other cars when the mileage starts to accrue . Is that a fair statement ?

.

In the past I have seen low mileage Python Green well specified 718 GT4 being advertised at a Premium often along with a blurb containing the words "rare" or "colour hard to find " . I actually viewed one of these cars at Tom Hartley north of £100k .
I notice however that when the mileage of these cars increase , price wise they fall into line with the rest and this "rare" colour no longer matters .
Being comparatively new to the Brand ( a couple of new 4.0 GTS Caymans and a 991 GTS ) I didn't know if Python Green ( Viper Green ) was rare
and if this apparent price premium was generally accepted by Porsche buyers in that Marketplace . Hence ignorant as I may seem to you , I was asking the question .

It’s a marmite colour and therin lies the issue. To some people it’s simply great and they are prepared to pay a fair bit for it in a new car, especially if it’s PTS. However in the used market there is simply less money sloshing around and it’s harder to get that premium price. A good case in point is the Python Green Cayman R which comes up for sale from time to time. One of one in RHD allegedly. It always starts a ridiculous premium price and gradually drops down until it either goes off sale or gets down to a price where the one customer who likes it can afford it.
So I think with regard to that colour you are quite right.

£90k for a new GTS or £90k for high spec 2023 low mileage GT4 which is no longer in production and already taken its hit on depreciation
GT4 residuals moving forward you would imagine will be stronger and depreciation would be minimal over the next few years vs new GTS which is still to depreciate

Down to personal choice but GT4 looks a good price imo

Python and Viper are two different greens. M6C v L225.

Yes Python is rarer than other colours on a GT4, because it was only offered for circa 1 and a half years. Added to the colour palette in MY21, removed half way through MY22 and MY23.

I absolutely love mine, it gets positive comments everywhere it goes, whether that's on track or at a C&C. I'm so so glad I stuck with my heart and specced it. I have no plans to sell so it's pretty irrelevant, but I remember when I had 'bright colour' jitters before my spec locked, my salesman reminded me that there will always be a buyer out there for the colour, and it's better to have a rarer colour that sticks out in a sea of default Red/Black/White/Yellow for sales. One things's for sure, Python GT4's don't hand around for long on the OPC finder when they appear. They usually go in a matter of days after appearing.

Is it worth more/less? I suppose it could be argued either way. IMO, the overall spec is more important on a GT4 than colour alone, but as I said I have no plans to sell so it's all pretty irrelevant for me.

Gratuitous picture of mine:

Looks really good!

I'm looking at purchasing a GT4, there's a Python Green CS Manual for sale which I think looks great but my partner has put a full veto on any 'lairy' colours she terms them.

Forgiveness can be easier to seek than permission. However going for a "lairy" colour might be helpful somewhere down the line.

I'm absolutely forbidden from buying any Porsches, and have been from the word go. I wouldn't say it gets that much easier, but there was at least a little stoic acceptance (and possibly slight exasperation) when the 4th and 5th ones were noticed. The debate about ownership of 2 of them at the same time has never quite been resolved.

They've all been white so far, which means fewer than the 5 so far may actually have been noticed. Would have got away with the GT4 RS but for the carbon bonnet. But you might have a valid argument in future that the GT4 is too lairy a colour, and you need a GT3 or GT3 RS in a more subtle shade.
