my money long term would be on the 981!
If you are so totally convinced that the 981 GT4 is such a shrewd long term buy it does beg the obvious question why on earth don't you put your money where your mouth is and buy one (to supplement your pension biggrinsmile instead of incessantly posting about a load of continuous and familiar hot air on the GT4 forums!

You constantly bang on about folks with garage queens being the ultimate crime but at least they own one and don't just talk about them incessantly and it is clearly entirely their choice what they do with their car bought with their money as it is equally the choice of someone doing 50k miles a year if they choose.

And on the subject of values and supply of used GT4s what we are seeing now with reduced used supply is nothing new it happens with most used Porsche GTs same as quality 991.2 GT3s which owners are tending to keep the better cars as they age which once more is strengthening prices as supply is reduced same as GT4s which to an extent are being supported by higher GT3 prices.

Oh dear someone has had their cage rattled! Just because I think the 981gt4 is a shrewd long term buy doesn’t mean I want one! If I was buying a Gt4 today I would go new 4RS ( and not on a PCP)But unlike you I buy cars to use and the 4RS would spend most of its time in a garage doing less than a few k a year, so what a waste!
Oh and I don’t have a pension and not yet 67 for the Government one!
Just because I don’t own a particular car doesn’t mean I can’t have an opinion on it! But you have a vested interests being a car dealer I mean who else buys 2 new mini coopers a few years back to flip along with various Porsche Gt products!
You better get on your holidays to the lakes in your tent since business is not doing well lol

It is petty i know but when someone attacks me personally l bite back!!!
This is a post on allocations therefore availability, price etc so I will post a no self interest opinion which hopefully gives those of who are looking to purchase an idea with what they need to spend with out getting misled by those with their own agenda! I never post about values on a driving/ technical post etc as it’s not appropriate.

But at present the 718 gt4 represents great value as long as it’s used as there is no value in a low miles unused garage queen!
Mine turns 3 yrs old in July. Owned from new, it's only covered just shy of 3k miles. But, i'm not a flipper, nor is it a garage queen. It's not a "waste", it's used for fun when I have spare time in my busy life. It gives me more than enough "value". My money, my choice.

I stopped trying to reason with you because no matter what anyone says, you simply retort by throwing angry exclamation marks around like they are going out of fashion, changing your story to suit, and generally not taking anybody else's opinion on board.

Before typing, you should try stepping back from the keyboard once in a while, calming down, and then try to understand that your subjective opinion isn't fact, no matter how much you may think it is.

A quick look at the OPC finder sees 19 cars available... but only 2 of those cars have buckets, and that's before you tick any other option. read

Technically as the GT4 has not been in production for 2 years there are no allocations / new car availability / build slots / spec options etc etc anymore

Just used cars which as we know don’t add up to very much

Like buses the other 2 with an unhealthy obsession with used prices.
If you love your car and have no intention to sell why constantly look at the ads and post about how many cars are up for sale and with what extras they have. I can understand posting about how many built and how many in the UK a break down of gearbox, colour, spec etc but value should play no importance to the ownership unless looking to sell.
Kmpowell I have owned a number of Porsches from new in the past and done low miles over years of ownership (garage queens) and no longer see the point as you dont really get to know and enjoy a car unless used regularly. For me the best car you own is the one you get to drive the most but that is my opinion others have different.
Doing 3 k miles over 3 years half of which would be running in you barely know the car, so do yourself a favour drive it more its not healthy for the car sitting around so much and cars used so little throw up more problems than cars used regularly

Quite and theres no point even reasoning with someone who thinks a flipper is someone who regularly keeps their cars for 5 years and someone who has such an unhealthy obsession with GT4 prices constantly trolling 718 GT4s and any owner who does less than 10k miles a year yet oddly openly admits he has no intention whatsoever of ever buying a 981 GT4 even though he constantly proclaims it is unequivocably the best Porsche on the planet and anyone who disagrees should be shot. biggrin:

Sounds like he has a huge chip on his shoulder maybe he was shafted by an OPC. All very odd indeed especially as despite numerous requests he has never owned up to
what car if any he actually owns/drives. laugh

It's entertaining reading for me when I'm back at the computer on Tuesday morning.

Picked up a 718 GT4 yesterday and I know most of the options it has, but I'd like to get the build sheet to see the entire spec.

Is the best way of obtaining this to contact an OPC? I had the car 111 Checked at an OPC last week, could they provide me with the build sheet?

Indeed.

What’s news with your GT2RS?

PS. Love your lack of self awareness. It’s cute

yes. I got one from OPC who didn't supply the vehicle.

Well he has a point on that count, in my opinion. Sold mine last year, but of the 5 Porsche Caymans I've had so far, definitely the one I've loved most. The others have been around for a year or 2 each, but the 981 GT4 lasted 6 years with me, and was a real "heart wrench" to let go of. 718 GT4 is in pretty much all ways a better car (maybe not exhaust note), but the 981 GT4 was uniquely special, and is amazingly affordable right now. (For what it is, and in my opinion.)

Or use these guys if you want it now, it's cheap and gives you the full spec sheet you would get from Porsche https://vinanalytics.com/

Thanks, good to know.

I spoke to the OPC that did the 111 Check and the lady in service sent me the full build sheet within two minutes of ending our call.
