I went for a stick on plate, looks great and no drilling!
Thank you RichieI went for a stick on plate, looks great and no drilling!
I have ordered a stick on - no idea if it will arrive or what it will look like as the company is not answering their phone - I have actually tried contacting 6 different plate companies in the last 2 days - insanely frustrating. Currently carrying a number plate around on the front seat.

What do I need to know? I bought it spur of the moment
Give me your top 3 owners info.
Other than 1) It drives good 2) it sounds good 3) It looks good = got that covered

Get angle brackets for the seats to improve the rake when wearing a helmet on track
The tracker (if fitted) can be a bit of trouble and you may need it reset by a dealer

Not planning track days at the moment but will bear that in mind if I do
Tracker noted thanks
Any cool custom accessories I need? I think yellow seatbelts and I am looking at a graphics kit or wrap thanks to the Highgate House recommendation above

I have recently ordered a GT4 and am in the fortunate position that I can pay for the car without using any form of finance. However the dealer is insisting that for GT car purchases finance must be used to pay for the car. At the current rate of 6% this will cost me money. Has anyone else who wished to pay the full amount outright for a GT car had this experience with their dealer?

I traded my 781 in and paid the balance in full with no finance. No problem at my OPC.My GT4 is due for collection in July but not heard anything from the dealership about having to take their finance and I’m not sure they can force you, might just be an over zealous business manger over stepping the mark. Even so, if you do have to use their finance, it’s all run by VW finance, you’ll get an online account and you can pay it all off after a month or so and they can’t stop you, so might cost you a months interest at most.

It used to be that you could pay it off shortly after purchase at no cost ....flyer911 said:

No that’s not in at all. Have you got a copy of the finance documents particularly the FCA regulated ones so initial disclosure and needs documents? You’ve I assume expressed that you do not require finance so curious how they are going to square this away on their compliance forms.Anyway VWFS do allow PCP agreements to paid off straight away with little penalty, may even be no penalty within a few days of collection. You can if you wish collect the car and pay the finance off on walking out of the dealership.
I paid cash by BACS transfer a few days prior to collection. As many on here have done too.

I got similar ballocks also. Tell the SA you'll probably take it on finance but sort out the details when the car arrives depending on your circumstances at the time. Then simply pay cash. It will piss them off but hey ho, the car will be in PDI at that point.Edited by GRD_72 on Friday 20th May 19:43
