My son bought this a short while ago from RPM to replace his 987 2.7.
It s a magnificent thing, and has the sports chassis and manual box.
I can see why they re popular.
Guards or Carmine ?

Love the way carmine changes colour in the sunlight.
Guards , as nice as it is , doesn't seem to have same contrast in the changing light.
Obviously I'm biased though
Agreed; I had a Guards Red 924 Carrera and 944 some years ago, and the Carmine really does pop in the right light. Guards , as nice as it is , doesn't seem to have same contrast in the changing light.

We currently have three red cars at home, Imperial Red C36 (actually quite a similar hue to the Porsche) and the Tornado Red Citigo in the background.
I had a 981 Cayman GTS for a few years. Just a great car.
IMO the 982 (718) update just doesn't look as good as the 981 (although GT4s and Spyders look fine). It's partly the size of the side air intakes and some other things I can't quite put my finger on. The 981 is such a resolved design; it always looks 'just right'. Shame Porsche messed it up - the same applies to 991 > 992.

Nice Spec, but looks a bit rough around the edges imo, also says all panels have been re-sprayed except boot lid & spoiler. At the end of the day at the right price I'm sure it'll be a good car for someone.
I know from experience of risk from other peoples cars when parked up but quite something to need to respray every panel due to London living.

I went from a 981 GTS that I had for seven years to a 718 GTS 4.0, and I really feel this. I just don't love to look at the new one as much. There's too many little bits of the design that just aren't right, especially from the front. As a machine the new car is better in almost every way (other than noise, of course), and every time I drive it I love it. But when I see a 981 GTS I just think they really nailed that design and it makes me miss it.

Yes, nailed it; that sums it up.As a machine I the new car is better in almost every way (other than noise, of course), and every time I drive it I love it. But when I see a 981 GTS I just think they really nailed that design and it makes me miss it.
It does indeed. I'd run a couple of 718s alongside my old 981 GT4 over the years. For me it's the tail, but the front became more "slabby" too. 981 tail lights into rear wing/spoiler are just gorgeous. Most recent 718 was a Cayman GTS 4.0, and it's brilliant in every way, but the 981 really had something about it, especially in looks.
But then last year I kept the GTS 4.0, and chopped the GT4 in for a 718 GT4 RS. The 718s are great cars, and I'm not sure there's any going back for all kinds of reasons. But I think a few versions of the 981 are going to turn out to be underrated classics. 981 GTS might be one of them.

Tbh sounds like you have the perfect combo there. But then last year I kept the GTS 4.0, and chopped the GT4 in for a 718 GT4 RS. Have considered buying a 718 4.0 manual to run alongside the 981 PDK GTS but then it's finding time to use both as I don't need a daily driver . Also double the running costs.
Interestingly after having many 911's over the years I now find the current versions too big which is a shame as the 992 is such a lovely looking car.
A good review of the BGTS by my favourite reviewer

So around 44k all in with commissions.
Considering every panel had been resprayed and the interior looked a tad shoddy I'd say the seller did well .

I was watching this, I would of had a bid if it struggled but 44k+ for a car described like that which no one could view before hand was too risky for me. Excellent spec car apart from the colour!
Be interesting to see how its described when it turns up on a dealers forecourt!
Hahah true . Be interesting to see how its described when it turns up on a dealers forecourt!
Some OPC. Will give it a polish and stick a 2 year warranty on and put it up at 52!
Personally I'd say a good one to miss .
Wonder what lies beneath
