Boxster S 987 Tyres
Discussion
No idea what is going on but when I tried to get some tyres fitted today my three usual places (local garages that usually do it on a friday for cash) told me that they were booked solid for the next two weeks. It sounds as though there is a lot of demand for their services at the moment.
Just fit whatever manufacturers tyres you want in the correct size and speed rating. This N rated, special to Porsche nonsense is just bks!
I have a Boxster, and I have N rated tyres. Goodyear don't supply the size for mine in anything but N rated, as far as I can see. If they did, and the price was less, I'd just buy them. In fact, I'd have done so just to prove a point. My Evo has 400 brake and 400 ft / lbs, and relies on the tyres doing a hell of a lot more work than those on the Porsche. Guess what. Nothing special about them, and that car hasn't managed to spit me off the road in the 17 years I've owned it.
Until shown otherwise, the cynic in me says we're being had with this crap.
