So, to summarise the GTS/GT4 argument; people who bought a GTS, say GTS, people who bought a GT4, say GT4.

'Expert' bystanders drop the odd brick in the pond to good effect.

Other findings: you can or cannot order a GT4, what is crucial is that you do, or do not have a relationship with your OPC.

The £10,000 price differential is wasted money which is well worth it and makes a huge, but negligible difference to making the GT4 faster, except when it's slower. (Good brick for pond: the T4 engined cars are faster again and the sound isn't the important thing, though it is the premier downside.)

I hope that's covered it and that this can continue for at least a hundred pages - which I will read, but ironically dislike as I'm reading them anyway. Just like the other thread on the GTS4.0 which is mainly the same people saying the same things, but which I'm also going to keep reading.
I think you may have hit the nail on the head there....

2 of the best cars Porsche has created for some time, there is no wrong or right car, both sublime.

After a 3 month or so wait My GT4 has arrived at the Porsche centre. For me, I’ve wanted a GT4 for around 5 years now and tried/failed to get one on and off. Was offered a few GTS slots early in the year but it wasn’t the car for me, glad I held on!
Looks awesome especially under the overcast sky. I've ordered Gentian and saw one on a dull cloudy day and was a little underwhelmed.

Colour is of course a personal choice but I have Gentian. It takes on different shades depending on the weather. It really pops in bright sunlight, has a purple hue when its bright but the sun is not directly on it and then looks quite a dark blue if it's raining.

Wait until you see Crayon on a similar day, if you haven't already. It's really not great.

The good thing about Racing Yellow is that it always puts a smile on your face smile

Very true.

Also it is always a good idea to look at colours in the flesh so to speak on a variety of days with different light and weather conditions before you choose a particular colour.

And bear in mind a typical day in the UK is overcast lol!

Thanks for the kind comments guys. Was a long time deciding, toss up between yellow and red. Being Scottish I’m too mean to spend £2500 on another bright colour! Last red car was an RS Mexico in 1980, so long overdue!

Would an average driver relatively new to trackdays tell the difference behind the wheel between GT4 and GTS? Performance, surely not the 0.1sec difference in 0-60 times. So then potentially handling? Suspension? (I’d be getting the 20mm lower sports suspension should I go for the GTS). The reviews seem to suggest the differences are minimal, e.g. Evo “ If you’ve never driven a GT4 you won’t know what you’re missing, and if you have you’ll need plenty of wheel time in both to pick out the nuanced differences between them. ”. I’m keen to hear what people who have driven both (or say the new GTS and old GT4) will say. Maybe on track the differences are felt more? Or is it only when on track AND driving really hard?

How different is the driving experience in both cars, really (driving wise, I don’t care much about the looks or drama etc)?

I’m deciding between GT4 and GTS 4.0. I was told by the local Porsche dealer I could get a GT4 build slot in the spring, and I’ve paid the £5k deposit already. I’ve driven for 20 years but only last year started venturing on track - I realised I could not use the various supercars I drove (not mine) to their fullest, or anything close to it in fact, on public roads. I did some trackdays and really enjoyed those, and will now look to do a few (8-10) a year. The Cayman will be used for those, plus spirited driving on B roads.

If you're doing track days then go GT4. If you're using the car daily, then go for the GTS.
