I couldn’t get that thought out of my head when viewing the red car !
I have to admit I saw a Guards red example heading South down the M40 with the top down this morning. It did look rather good, but GT silver is a stunning colour and is more discrete and classy smile
Enjoy it, and we'll look forward to your review and updates smile
But for future reference, you really don't need to worry about modern reds fading or turning to pink !!

Congratulations on your purchase I somehow don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

As above ignore the unsolicited opinions of self appointed experts in price and spec - you’ve already bought the car so they are irrelevant and frankly petty. If you are happy with the car and the deal that’s all that matters.

I’ve not heard of anyone running smaller wheels on a Spyder, they don’t have a reputation for a harsh ride - given it’s a non trivial cost modification I think you’d need some validation before proceeding. If you post on boxa.net (a little more focus there on driving and using cars, a bit less on what’s my car going to be worth in 3 years time with or without deviated stiching!) you may well find a “normal” 981 owner who has gone up or down a wheel size who could give a perspective? You ideally need someone without PASM though - many of the 20” wheeled S or GTS cars seem to have this.

I assume you are aware of the potential impact of modifications to your extended warranty? You or a future owner will find it difficult to renew if you make obvious changes, even though there seems to be a relaxation of the renewal inspection currently. Also if you remap the ecu for example I think you would face resistance to any claim on drivetrain components.

Thanks, I’ll take a look, the ride quality was very much a first impression, having dropped down in wheel diameter by an inch on previous Monaro, M3, and 1 series, and with the Exige having much more air between driver and road I’m happy to take a punt on some lightweight 19” rims.
Point taken on the remap, although it does seem that to make gains the inlet and throttle body need replacing as well, so probably wait until warranty expires.

Nice car as good as anything up for sale at the moment you will not regret it.
It’s over list and none OPC for £69k for a car which was £66k list ish. It looks very poor value to me.

I would have bought this one and saved £5k.

But the one I bought is covered by Porsche warranty until 2022, is a year newer, done 3k fewer miles, doesn’t have chavvy black rims, is getting a full fast road geo and I didn’t pay the sticker price ??
Despite what Porsche911R says the car you are buying is by far the better car in my opinion as Taffy66 says you get far more spec, as well as less miles, it is about what you want but for me I would not buy the car 911R likes, the full leather on the dash and the carbon make for a much nicer cockpit and it is important that while driving your in a nice place. For what its worth I maintain what I put earlier your buying the right car its the one I would buy and I did check out all those for sale after going out recently with a friend who has a 981 Spyder, it sounded so much better than my 718GT4,but not sure if I could get an extra car past SWMBO.
