Hi.
Quick update.
Booked my 718 for its first service at OPC Sutton Coldfield.
£475. Oil supplied by me.
Managed to get 10lts of Mobil 1for £60.
Phoned OPC Chester quoted them what S Coldfield are charging.
Said £790!.
Not interested in any negotiation
Cheers.

Big fan of Sutton Coldfield! Harry and the service team are very passionate about the cars. They have my 718 in for warranty work on Tuesday.

I was quoted via email, £600 inc brake fluid for the 981GTS first service.
I politely declined the ‘Full AC’ service for an additional £200, as I knew this was not required, or on any Porsche schedules.
Upon completion, the bill was over £800 anyway. Several visits back stage to ‘see the manager’ were required, to wrangle the bill down to as quoted online and via emails!
Service person was clearly very stressed and quite cross, that we wanted to pay the agreed price.

First service on the 718GTS, we went to another OPC.
They were still using the online menu which showed £625 inc brake fluid.
I called and they accidentally added on £250 for brake fluid, but immediately withdrew this, when I mentioned I’d called based on their menu pricing.
Upon collection the bill was again way too high and they made me sit there for ages, while I could see them bickering behind the glass office doors.
Then the fella managed to get the bill down to quoted figure, as a special deal, by discounting labour by ‘over 30%’
He kept going on and on about fighting our corner to make sure we were happy etc!

So my experience is of underhand tactics to brazenly over charge, with presumed closures and time pressure tactics applied when queried.

Always get quotes in emails, as they will tell you that you are mistaken and stare you down frown
