Boxster 25 Edition

My current 991.2 Turbo S is around £110k car and around £540 per month with circa £80k financed by PFS. Hence why I personally would struggle with spending £1200 on £70k financing on a Boxster25.
Like I said I am not passing any judgement just my own thoughts. I change my cars way too much and most people think I am mad, but I really enjoy different cars and the fun of sourcing and finding the right vehicle for my want at that time. Drives my wife mad but she likes driving them too! ??
Fair play mate. I love my cars as well. A good friend of mine got 911 turbo s a few weeks ago. He said it’s crazy fast it looks amazing as well Like I said I am not passing any judgement just my own thoughts. I dont do finance on cars,so i dont really understand a lot of what the guys are talking about with regards to £1100 a month? I cant believe the amount of money people will get into debt for to buy a car. Oh well each to there own.
I totally get you and cannot argue with what you say. I just can't mentally empty my bank account that far - I enjoy having my cash to do other things with. The cash not used to buy the car outright is then used to minimise the overhead of running what in most cases is a depreciating asset.Lenlec said:

He's a lucky man! In September last year I was quoted a delivery window of April 2021. I have just spoken to 2 OPC's in the last week and both are now saying 2023 for a new Turbo S order. Crazy lead-times that will no doubt help keep the values strong. They look amazing and I would like to see one parked on the drive in 2022 as long as I don't have to pay overs.

His is a 2016 model in white it’s the convertible model. They look amazing and I would like to see one parked on the drive in 2022 as long as I don't have to pay overs.
Just filling the vacuum of lockdown and silence on delivery dates of my 25 with playing the configurator game........ I’m resolved that I can’t deal with the red interior (slaughterhouse someone called it above.. too right). But what about the red roof on GT Silver and black interior maybe with some red seatbelts or instruments thrown in? Thoughts?

I've got a feeling I'm going to be waiting for mine till the Autumn but we'll see. Trouble is I've got a hankering for a Mustang GT and I can get a new one and keep my current Boxster for the same money the 25 will cost so the longer I'm waiting the more difficult its going to be. First world dilemmas are never easy . As far as spec goes I can't do the red interior either so what you're proposing is exactly what I'm going for, probably

Still dont know what your deal is? To finance 80k are you saying you put a 30k deposit down? How many years etc?Like I said I am not passing any judgement just my own thoughts. I just cant understand why anyone would pay £1400 a month on a car!
That is nothing, look at this guy, he just spent £3,300.00 a month on one....PistonGuy66 said:
To be honest it cant be as bad as the £80k i just shot up the wall selling my wifes 650 Mclaren she had for about 2 years!! Lol
What was the PCP price on a 650s?
On a 570s it is £39k down and £995 over 36 months with an option to own at the end of £85k
So a 650s would have been around £49 down and £1250 a month. So around £2600 a month if done over 3 years.
£3300 over 2 years, so pretty much the same as you lost on yours paying cash for it.
Some people just feel happier with manufacturer taking the risk on the depreciation.
Plus you don't have your money sat tied up on the drive.
I personally prefer not having finance, but there are definitely times when it is the more sensible option, like when manufacturers hide discounts in finance contributions, or when the depreciation is a complete guess.
Cars depreciate, so we are all paying a monthly figures really, some just prefer to pay it all up front.

A neighbour of mine has a Mustang GT. He described it as something he’d always wanted. It does sound lovely with the V8 driving up our close. I had a drive in it which I enjoyed immensely, but it’s a bit of a blunt weapon compared with the Porsche’s delicacy. Sort of a rocket propelled grenade compared to a long range rifle. It looks the business too, but I fear I would tire of it quite quickly. Mind you, I guess you have the choice of the two depending on how the mood takes you on the day. As far as spec goes I can't do the red interior either so what you're proposing is exactly what I'm going for, probably

What do you mean by spec freeze? Are you saying you have to spec your car by the 28th of march? I have paid a deposit but have yet to spec the car?
The car is going to built as per your order, which sounds likr not options at all.Better get your config head on and get your spec into the dealer if you want any options or i deed the colour you want .
You have no idea of the price either?

Got my delivery date today. May 25th into dealer. Spec freeze March 28th. They are on the way
What do you mean by spec freeze? Are you saying you have to spec your car by the 28th of march? I have paid a deposit but have yet to spec the car?As you have paid a deposit I would submit a spec to the dealer for it to be loaded up on the system. I would suspect that a fully specified order might get a bit higher up the allocation queue than an order with no spec attached. that could be complete cobblers of course, but who knows.

I think the problem is I've got too much time on my hands in lockdown and spending far too much time on AT. So far the cure has been to watch the Boxster 25 promo video but I'm not sure how much longer I can hold out
O yes, I so know what you mean! And getting frustrated with Porsche gets us nowhere. Apart from a Mustang GT? I have 2 deposits in, one for a GTS another for a 25 with different dealers. Either will do TBH, but the better half has her heart set on the 25. And that might come earlier. And the best news of the day? Bigmowley’s post above. Maybe soon? EEnBEE said:

Agreed. I'm encouraged that the first 25s seem to be coming and if I get a confirmed build number thoughts of getting a Mustang will quickly evaporate. I've also got a GTS order in as a back up option but pretty sure if the 25 doesn't happen the Mustang will. Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
