I'm starting to get itchy feet. The longer the wait the more time spent on AT and PH classifieds. There's a lot of tasty metal out there for circa £80K cash.

Given that all 4.0 718 production is currently stopped I think this unlikely.

Do you know that production has stopped for all 4.0l for a fact? I have seen on other forums that people are saying their car is scheduled for production last and this week. I think it is more likely that there will be a constraint (i.e. reduction) on production numbers if Porsche decide to replace the 1000 engines with the fault. But that decision seems not to have been made yet. That’s just my theory though, not corroborated by facts. Facts seem to be in short supply too!

They’re busy building Chinese market Boxster 25s that have the 4 cylinder turbo engines, the only chances of Boxster 25s arriving in time for summer is if they switch to 4 cylinder engineers, they prioritise the Boxster 25s over the 996 cars with suspect Conrods or they use rebuilt 4.0 engines in the Boxster 25s, all of which are highly unlikely.

You could be right. It’s all a right mess at the minute tbh

And they’ve increased the list price across the range

You are right. +£1,060 for the 25. Unbelievable! We order our cars within 2 days of them coming on the market at full retail price, and before we even get the chance to take delivery they put the price up again.

My old 4.0 BGTS config has only gone up £288. Car +£910 but price of reversing sensors inc camera dropped from £1086 to £464. Presumably the actual sensors are standard now, although it doesn’t say so in the spec.

I had to scratch my itchy feet - have bought a 2017 911.2 GTS with less than 10k miles for the same money whilst I weigh up which I will keep. Not sure I'll go back to the Boxster tbh - love the 911! At least I've still got a convertible for the summer, been great the last couple of days

Have you not got a spec-lock date or anything yet? Timelines from locking in the spec to build is about 3-4 weeks say, then a further 3-4 weeks for delivery to dealer so let's say 8 weeks from the point you lock it in.

Could be late summer at this rate for you boys, I locked in my Spyder last week and I've been told to expect it in June.
My Spyder spec locked in October 2021, January build, my build complete is now the end of May, will not be impressed with Porsche if your car arrives before mine.

I think the price increase might just be the proverbial straw. I'll check with the dealer tomorrow and if I have to pay the increase I think I'll cancel.

Im thinking similar I may well cancel and go 991.2 GTS. Im not interested in funding VW groups EV development. The parking sensors are now stock so increase not as high as it at first seems but who is to say there wont be another increase before delivery which looks increasingly like 2022 for me on a stock GTS, I turned down a 25 edition allocation.

I think (but don't know for sure) that Porsche have announced the price increases early as you can't simply order a car right now for relatively quick delivery. The price increases shown are for cars ordered now and delivered as 2022MY spec.

I am assuming that your cars will be 2021MY (i.e. built before July/August) and therefore the price increase shouldn't apply. That was the feedback I got on mine, albeit not a 25th edition car. OPC should be able to clarify, I didn't bother to ask officially as ultimately the response makes no difference to me as I'm not going to cancel.

I had assumed that we would get charged the new price, although I haven’t had time to check TBH. All the orders will have been secured in January, notwithstanding cancellations, so why put the price up unless it’s going to charged?
