Interesting how quickly the turn around was.

Is it difficult to get a PDK GT4?

Congrats. Weather is crap. Can't have the new car buying experience inside the dealership. Stand outside sign some stuff. Only you can get in the car then bugger off home.

Get it delivered on a day you can immediately go and drive it around you favourite local roads.

Congrats, I've turned down a couple of slots for one of these but might be interested depending on gearing, would you mind posting what the rpm is at 75 in top, please? (Apologies, I'm always asking about this).

I will have the same dilema coming up,

pros of collecting is that you get to look over all the car for any scratches, dents, spec, etc, etc, before driving off, there shouldnt be any off course.

pros of delivery you dont have to go to the dealership,

cons, do you like or trust the delivery mob to get it on the trailer without marking anything, i am personally never keen on that, but it happens every day and most cars are fine, , ,

its just easier to raise issues if there are any before it arrives at your door,

mine, want PPF before it leaves the dealership and I will be collecting it and inspecting every panel before it leaves their forecourt.

regards
scott.

Andy congrats again, was just chatting to you on Facebook about it and mine being ready March too (John Cameron).

Exciting times, I’m just gonna go to the dealer to get it, as Scott was saying I’d rather not trust any delivery driver

Paint Protection Film. I'm having it applied to my car before it leaves dealership, also. Was quoted £1400 for front end + rear wheel arches.
There's also the alternative of spray-on protection, which I'm debating (versus PPF) at the moment.

Basically, these will protect from stone chips and minor scratches.

I am Interested in people’s views on this. OPC quoted me £2000 for ppf front and sills, I am going for ceramic coating only. £750.

If you are happy collecting it do so then you can inspect the car personally.

If you have it delivered check the underside for damage. I've had 2 front splitters and 3 plastic sill covers damaged by transporter loading on new Porsche GTs even with front lift. OPCs sorted no problem it but it was a faff and inconvenience and dead miles returning the car.

Imo don't bother with the paint protection its a rip off.

I've done nothing to protect my car and in 12months/4000m I've got one very small stone chip on my bumper and some mild rash inside the wheelarches.

PPF has its fans, but for me it's a massive waste of money.

I'm still unsure about mine given it's ability to collect dirt in the seams but it's saved me from a good 3 or 4 in the first 800 miles I've done in the car. I don't think you're too far from me but the roads around Alderley Edge/Knutsford (Cheshire in general?) are a disgrace. Probably worth it for me?

One of these potholes will claim an alloy soon/swallow entire car, no amount of PPF is going to stop that hehe

I drive around that area a lot and my car looks fine to my eyes. Roads are crap everywhere!

As I suspected - the difference in gearing is not the reason to buy PDK. Buy PDK if you want PDK, buy manual if you want manual.

Wonder which is correct though and whether the speeds in this previously posted chart are incorrect?
