You now have a similar setup to me albeit with more camber going on at the front. Manthey look to be using over 3 degrees, that's quite a lot for general road use but it'll be good to hear how you get on with it, especially regarding inner tyre wear.

Will they not share any settings with you? Nothing about camber or toe front and rear?

Indeed. Fine by me as it works.

Fair enough - I'm nosy and would want to know all the details! laugh

Quite a turnaround from "Porsche replacement silencers are too expensive" to your current seup - fair play for getting stuck in though! biggrin

Haha. Think I've gone the "econ" route for most of it smile

Should have been done ages ago.

Would be very good news for us in Switzerland, as non OEM parts are a minefield of documentation here ...

It will make a massive improvement to the problem of front tyre shoulder wear ... but it's worth mentioning that if you are intending to fit a set of KW 3-way Clubsport dampers, KW supply their own top mounts.

What level of Porsche (Manthey fairy dust) tax are we talking about to enable one to keep ones OE warranty intact here ?

I believe the kit for the OEM suspension that Mannylon had fitted is around £1700+VAT plus fitting. It's also not yet an approved Tequipment option, although I suspect it will be in time.

My car has a similar setup using all Porsche Motorsport parts and it was a lot less...

Just as I suspected TF. This photo is dated 2006 :

They're the Porsche Motorsport Cup rear toe arms just about to be fitted to my 996 GT2 ...

I thought they were expensive at £150 each (and the black alignment spacers were a complete rip off at 12.50 each or something equally ridiculous)

And from ML's video :

They do look shockingly familiar ...

Good to know the Manthey/Porsche price fixing cabal is alive and thriving biggrin

The rear toe links I have are different. I don't have a pic but they seem to have been changed for the GT4 Clubsport and they have a 981 part number.

Prices have gone up a bit since you bought them for your 996 but Manthey appear to be asking for quite an MR tax! For reference, my newer style toe links were £271+VAT.

EDIT: found a pic online of my toe links:

Mine were the 996 Cup toe arms, yours are the later (some say nicer/easier to adjust) 997 Cup items smile

I'd like to see an invoice for those VAG aero aids ... scratchchineek

For those not worried about invalidating their OE warranty, the likes of Tarrett do a pair of top mounts and rear toe links for roughly £750 ...

They’re from VW Golf Mk7.
Not for aero… they are require for TuV as wheel arch extensions, to cover the tyre width as that would poke out a bit beyond the original wheel arch, with the new geo and extended track width.

You see a lot of German range topping performance cars come with these type of extension now….. BMW M cars, VW R, Audi RS etc.

Ah yes ze Chermans and zayre T Hugh Fee.

My use of the word "aero" was tongue firmly in cheek !! biggrin Either way, I'm sure there's a large chunk of Porsche/Manthey tax on them eek

I'm struggling to see the wheels/tyres poking out from the arch (irrespective of where you're viewing the poke from) just by adding the adjustable toe arms. Do yours now extend out beyond the confines of the arch ?
