The latter I suspect, especially if your spec locked a while back...

That's what I've been told... woohoo
Going to be as scarce as hens teeth I suspect, sadly
I'd say the production run will be far greater than 3 RS. which isn't saying much I know!

With the news from my dealer that I probably won't be getting an allocation for at least another couple of months, I've put myself on a ban from using the configurator. Over the past 2 months I've spent waaaay too much of my time on there, and all I've managed to do is tie myself up in undecided knots. headache

Sorry, just scrolled back up and seen your spec! Can I ask why you deleted the GT4 badge please?
Two things I dislike about my car (for what it’s worth) I wish I’d gone for a reversing camera instead of just the sensors also the standard climate control is rubbish control wise and I wish I had gone for the dual one where you can set the actual temperature.

Was in my OPC today sorting out a few things and we had a look at the Porsche model availability screen. The GT4 and the Spyder are still grayed out but they now say “limited availability” again. Which is different to a month or so back when it was “do not order “. Which suggests to me that there will be some Q1 allocations coming through.
Who knows?

I agree, things defo seem to have changed a little at least with a handful of slots dodging around next year, I suspect I may be lucky enough again at some point next year. One of the very last would be nice to get for sure. Then again who knows really!

Dual zone should be standard, but an option for a few more £££. Good shout on the camera, but I struggle with the perspective when in the car, may just be a case of familiarity. Delete GT4, it’s a pain when washing and always seems to catch bits of sponge/lambs wool.

Consider having handles in black. Given you have blue and black, would look good

The headlight washers in blue too - else they look cack

Get the camera. Helps see how much space you actually have when reversing close to something

Personally I’d say you should sit in a car with more racetex/ leather and compare to one without. Not much ticked for the interior so unless it’s for track, may want to spruce it up a bit

I don’t know what the standard stereo is like but I went for Bose upgrade and it’s decent enough

An alternative opinion:

Door handles in black would be gloss black, all other parts (bar the brake calipers) are matt black. I'd leave them body colour.

Headlight washers are matt black as standard and match the other plastics, I wouldn't bother getting them painted.

Camera is excellent, totally recommended.

You've chosen the leather dash and carbon package, including the sills, which match the bucket seats. I don't think the interior needs anything else.

The car is very noisy so a stereo upgrade is pointless IMHO. Save your money.

Giles - that's a very nice spec as it is, I'd only suggest considering adding the reversing camera and auto-wipers smile

Yes, I agree on the "sprucing up" of the interior for road cars, it's a bit plain otherwise!

With respect, I'm surprised you went for Bose, the most overrated option IMO given it's a GT car, and amazed you can hear it 'properly' with all the noise? smile

Never have the stereo on in my 3RS and GT4, but that's probably my age?

The exhaust noise is the only sound that matters in a GT car smile

yes

I also feel that metallic paint doesn't belong on a GT car either, but that's another discussion wink

Yes I agree on the metallic paint, especially GT Silver on a Weissach RS, sooo naff, in fact I'm ashamed to go out in mine eek

Now Guards Red is something else on a GT4 smile

laugh

I'm very spec sensitive for my own cars, including exterior colours, but of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it's all good beer

I feel that GT cars need bold colours to contrast the black scoops/vents etc. Guards is my current colour, although I may cross over to the dark side and go for Speed Yellow next time round );

I've had a Deposit in since June this year for a car, still haven't had an allocation yet so emailed my dealer to ask what was happening and they have said:

"I don’t yet have a confirmed build date but I can confirm you are high on the deposit list so depending on how many we get given it will not be long"

Don't want to give myself false hope, but sounds like they are still due some allocations for next year so maybe production isn't ending soon?

A man can dream! cry

There are definitely a few cars going to come through for 2022. I suspect the question for you will be how many and how far up the queue you are. Fingers crossed!
