This is parked, no lift activated c. 125mm.

Could you please confirm what it is with lift activated?
The event i was attending was cancelled last minute... when I was on my way there... a nice 90 minute round trip on M25 for me this morning biggrin.

On the plus side, the car was a pleasure to drive and I took a measurement with the lift up smile. I'd say that was c. 170mm so the lift adds c. 45mm.

Crazy to think the amount of money the opc made out of manipulating demand.
To think there are people that Paid £280k for these cars is crazy. I love my RS it's probably almost as good as the S2 Exige which is the best sportscar ever made. But 280k at the time was only a skip and a jump from a 458 Speciale.

Interesting stats. Some folks got well stung with these cars early on. I know a guy who had to trade in his GT4 for less than trade money , take their finance and a watch plus spec the car to the moon inc WP/Mag wheels etc etc (some of which he didn t want). When I got offered my slot a couple of years ago they were pushing hard for me to take a £10K watch, I repeatedly refused (thankfully!).
I went into the Exeter dealer, there were 4(I think) there, I got offered a brand new one at £160kodd. I did laugh and said when I tried to buy a new one, you said no. Now they’ve got them starting at £120k.

I think I’d still like one, just not sure on the size of the bath it’ll take(I can cope with loosing some money), or how it’ll feel coming from a 650s into one.

Perfect, thank you for taking the time to measure it for me.

Just to add to @Nothingtoseehere's useful measurements, I got the tape measure out before cleaning my GT4 RS up this morning.

Mine is about as low as I've ever seen them set up, and has needed shorter springs to get it there due to front lift. It measures just under 90mm, and with lift comes up to 130mm, under the centre of the front splitter. So agreed, maybe a little less than 45mm lift, but definitely more than 40mm

I'm pretty sure my one will have been exactly the same as @Nothingtoseehere's when I got it new. It felt like the front end was riding much too high compared with my the outgoing 981 GT4. The front lift really wasn't necessary in any circumstances I drive in regularly. Of course it is needed now, but less often than I thought it would be. When it was first set up on standard springs it still sat pretty high with the ride height wound all the way down. Probably only 10mm lower than standard.

I'd wager that the 982 (GT4 and RS) has a little more clearance under the splitter than the 981 GT4. I probably only had 80mm when that had been set up for the track, but gut feel is that actual ride height of both cars was similar.

Mine only got driven round the block to dry the brakes after washing. Wanted to get it back in the workshop and under a car cover for winter before the rain came, which I just about managed.

This car was up for sale last week at £140k and checking today they've added £6.5k to it and it's now just £2k below the brand new price!

It's pretty basic in terms of spec too so seems like they are chancing their arm.

Spec looks pretty good, Weissach, Bose, PCCB, buckets, reversing camera, FAL.

The problem is there's no more so it's not like you could buy one new anyways at list or not.

it looks like they're chancing it at that. I was at an OPC at the weekend and they openly admitted they can't sell them all at the min, there's brand new in the system for less than original list.

The market generally may be contributing to the cars being hard to shift, but it's not a time of year people have niche car buying on their mind.

I'm thinking about Christmas hols and lots of other things too. I've been buying (bikes) but only when there's a deal that I think will be unlikely to be there next year. If not, I'd wait till next year.

That and the budget.

I did thank him for not selling me one on factory order 18 months ago. hes saved me circa £40k.

Odd move increasing the asking price by £6.5k considering how long some of these have sat unsold.

Maybe they know something we don’t!

It’s not often you hear an opc saving a customer money!

They've knocked the £6.5k off now and it's back at £140k

Never quite sure why folks bother with WP on a black car. Many years ago I had a black M4 and the carbon roof was lost against the body colour as a detail.

They don't make sense at the moment. If you bought one of the many new ones that are up for sale right now put 1000 run in miles on it and then tried to sell it back into the network. You’d be looking to take at least a 30 K bath on the trade in price maybe more if you factor in getting it ppf’d and paying the ridiculous first road tax.

Ive been looking at; 992 gt3s / 991 gt3rs / 991.2 gt3 etc

The gt4rs never crossed my mind as last time i saw they were 200k +!

Some serious droppage there.. how much further do we think they’ll go over next 6 months as i’m looking at short term ownership, also, some of draw toward a 991 is the lack of nanny aids, are they a pain to turn off on the gt4rs?

Cheers

Who knows what the values will be in 6 months, probably about where they are now less dealer margins. For sure you won't get in / out for nought in the short term. Long term they may be more in demand than they are now, but currently with quite a few brand new cars at list or more realistically below.

As for nanny aids, I don't think there any in the 4RS - same as 991, others will correct me though.

None in mine, but it's a '22 plate.
