If you re 100% sure of your findings, do the right thing and post the reg in the gt3 avoidance thread to protect others.
Hmm, I'm in two minds about it. On the one hand it would be awful for someone to find out post purchase but on the other, I presume the current owner knows and is not trying to be underhand. Maybe it's the type of info that is only divulged once at a certain point in the process. Phone calls and texts with the salesman obviously isn't that point.
I don't know, I feel it reflects badly on the current "marketers" of the car, the owner I wouldn't know?
Were it myself who was thinking of buying a car as expensive as that I d have expected that info up front - certainly not finding it while doing a deep dive of the history….

That's an interesting view and I think you're saying something that seems to align with what I'm saying.
It's subjective, but do you think the GT4RS is worth a significant premium over a normal GT4 or indeed something like an A110R?
Yes the 4RS is a very different animal to a vanilla 4. Worth every penny of the extra. Not owned or driven an Alpine.
Here is my solution to not having an SRS. It s the third one we have had and dear god do they ever wake you up. There are just so many alternatives to Porsche products these days that there is no real excuse to get suckered into Porsche games. It s quite liberating not actually owning any Porsche cars after many many years of continuous ownership.

Nice car, very very rare in UK it seems and seldom for sale. Interested to hear how you like it, have you had it long? It's subjective, but do you think the GT4RS is worth a significant premium over a normal GT4 or indeed something like an A110R?

I enjoyed it so much I bought another, a GT4 race car. My middle son and I did quite a few races in that car. British GT, Britcar, GTCup as well as a few other things. Here is the race car:
Eventually spent too much money racing, sold the race car and the road car and moved onto other things and other toys. Then last year this popped up, middle son decided we had to have it and here it is. Not done many events yet but enjoying it immensely on the road. They still look a million dollars on the road although the impact is less now than it was.
They are very demanding to drive fast but equally very rewarding. The wind noise and the buffeting is on another level especially at high speed, unlike a bike you cannot tuck yourself down behind the screen, or pull your shoulders in. You just get blasted by everything, flys, rain, grit, bits of tyres, litter, birds etc etc. It is 100% a helmet at all times. The hardest car that I have ever driven on track, harder than a FF or an F3 car. You know you have done a shift after a 1 hour stint in BGT!!! It s a buzz though

It s the good old VW/Audi direct injection 2.0L turbo 4 pot motor. Very reliable and tunable, the white one runs a K04 turbo with 360BHP which at 815KG fueled and ready to go is plenty.
Well engineered and very well screwed together, almost entirely carbon, they are fairly bullet proof. The white one at nearly 30K miles is as tight as my brand new one. Fully adjustable in almost every direction, quite a few performance parts available in Europe and USA. Just a bit s
t when it rains
Oh and no luggage space at all, not even the hint of a glove box. Basically you need a chase car whenever you go on a long run.

- Below market price,
- Below average mileage,
- Great spec - options and decent colour.
I don't think you can have cake and eat it just yet
In the current market as July 2025, one of those things has to give way.
Might be another 6months i.e. after production has ended and summer fun is finished.
Interesting thought, I can see the “summer fun” ending helping depress the market for sure, however I’d have thought that production ending and zero new cars coming through would have the opposite effect - given the supply of new cars diluting the market place is suddenly gone, so used is the only option for buyers…..- Below average mileage,
- Great spec - options and decent colour.

^^ still all over £120k though apart from one that is Cat S.
TX.
They creeping down on the used Porsche site.TX.
3 on Porsche site all under £120k (albeit 2 not by much!! - one £6k, one £100 and one £10). Which suggests can be had for a few £k less.
If trend continues give it at month or 2 and we will see a few more decent spec ones advertised around £115k - £118k direct with Porsche I suspect.

Ignoring the fact that your first sentence makes no sense, it's very typical for a car trader to be promoting the illusion of "a real surge in price". Hopefully punters will be much less gullible to talk like that considering the very depressed state of the market nowadays
Well it does make sense and I've no skin in the porsche market other than my own car so it's an observation from someone who yes does know what I'm talking about. Spotting trends is a key part of what we do. People always want what they can't have and the number of cars on the market will fall. Simple economics demand will increase in the spring and they're will be fewer cars available so a price increase is the only logical outcome. A fully specced up 4RS at 115k is way too cheap for what it is that's obvious. What else is there to buy new when that's gone? An Emira? That's about all that will be left.
If the Government press on with banning of ICE cars then yes there will be a surge in pricing at some point. I suspect deisel vans will be the best investment though not cars.
A few things here:
1. The new model is years away
2. Will I suspect be hybrid or turbo
3. Will be full of “tech/nanny state BS”
4. Won’t be cheap (Porsche have proper form jacking the price on everything all the time).
Meantime, just get on with driving what you’ve got - life is short and there’s no way the new model will be as noisy/exciting/savage as the 4RS or SRS.

Interesting stats. Some folks got well stung with these cars early on. I know a guy who had to trade in his GT4 for less than trade money , take their finance and a watch plus spec the car to the moon inc WP/Mag wheels etc etc (some of which he didn’t want). When I got offered my slot a couple of years ago they were pushing hard for me to take a £10K watch, I repeatedly refused (thankfully!).

This car was up for sale last week at £140k and checking today they've added £6.5k to it and it's now just £2k below the brand new price!
It's pretty basic in terms of spec too so seems like they are chancing their arm.
