981 apple carplay ?
Discussion
Just bumping this thread - has anyone tried the units from Elite Carplay - https://www.elitecarplay.co.uk/product-page/porsch...
Apparently an offer on for £99 off with the code "ELITE" though doesn't seem to be working at the mo.
They look like rebranded Joyeauto units and at £400 with the coupon are a comparable price to ordering from Joyeauto direct (458 Euros).
The Isudar units appear to be simpler to install but doesn't look like they have one to work with CDR-31 (CD-R 3.1 unit or whatever it's actually called!!).
Does anyone know of anywhere to get the Joyeauto units a bit cheaper, or know of any alternative car play units for our base stereos?
I've looked on Alibaba but it's a bit confusing and the search is rubbish.
Thanks!

Fitted mine on Thursday afternoon. Works really well, gets onto the carplay screen automatically about 10 secs after turning the ignition on.I had cause to phone Nick at NVM for a bit of help initially. He was really helpful, guessing my issue instantly and I guess resisting the temptatioon to mention that I was a bit dim.As I expected, I hadn't read the instructions carefully enough and missed the detail about fitting a couple of the ribbon cables. (There's a notch at one end which must be fitted to the sub board that I hadn't noticed.)
The actual mechanics of opening the headunit etc is very straighforward even for someone who hasn't trained as a gynaecologist. I also made sure I covered everything in cloths, even taping one to the at risk area of the steering wheel to be extra careful.

Can I ask if all is well with this upgrade after some real world experience, some of the ones available sound a little flaky?I had cause to phone Nick at NVM for a bit of help initially. I've had my NM Automotive one for almost 2 years (albeit in my 987.2, but it's the same tech) and it's been great. Continues to work flawlessly and I wouldn't be without it. Really has brought my oldish car into the modern era!981Boxess said:

Mine has worked perfectly since I installed it. Such a fundamental piece of kit these days, I'd be lost without it - especially the Waze and Google maps functionality.Get it bought!
