One of the best sports cars in the world isnt going to suddenly appear to be rejection material after a test drive, unless perhaps you are 4 feet tall or near 7 feet tall and just don’t fit in it properly, or seriously overweight. which would be observable at the show room I guess.

It’s just too good a car.

I cancelled mine before the PDE and was kind of hoping they might not realise and send me a date anyway. Think I might just buy it myself.

I had just sold my 991 GT2RS- so coming from a 700 bhp twin turbo to a 420 bhp NA GT4 I did think it could be a bit underwhelming in which case I would have cancelled it, however I liked the car.

You misunderstand my question. I was wondering if after you have been on the PDE, a correct specced GTS 4.0 appears in the used car market and you decide to buy that and cancel your order, do Porsche really deduct the cost of the PDE from your £3,000 deposit and if so how much would that be.

I cancelled an order after going on the Pde. No charge was made.
I suspect it’s to prevent serial orders/cancellation just to get the pde.

I had a mate join me as an additional participant on my last 2 PDE days that came with new orders. I tried to gift him the first one, but he felt it was worth every penny at £500ish or whatever it was in 2017, and insisted on paying me back.

The price had actually come down a fair bit for the one earlier this year, and yet again he insisted on paying me back for it. As we left PEC Silverstone he said, "Definitely up for this next year, let me know when you have some dates", and I had to point out I hadn't planned to order another new Porsche. My order for a new Cayman GTS 4.0 was placed about a month later...

I'm guessing I'll get an invite early next year for the GTS 4.0 PDE day, but have already grabbed a slot for the "Precision" driving experience in my 981 GT4 as well. A morning at the PEC and an afternoon on the race track "proper" with a good instructor just has to be worth it.

Outstanding value for money even if you do end up having to pay for it.

Any news on cancelled orders or a slowing of the order book? Might be a bit early for things to really start to change, if indeed they do at all.

I'm expecting mine q1 2024 which suits me fine as my current car will be 2 years old then. I really don't want it before but may feel that if I don't take it I won't necessarily have another chance. If it did turn out that I was offered an allocation early could I ask to move down the list? The risk is with so few about I don't then get one before production ends.

On another note I'm already a couple of price rises in since ordering probably with another couple to come before delivery at best. My spec is already circa £85k. If that goes over £90k it may start to feel expensive given what I've paid in the past.

Just been given a build slot for March - I ordered in May 22 and was told to expect a 2 year wait, so things might be changing.

That's positive news for us on a waiting list.
Which OPC are you with?
Still wondering if it's worth placing a 2nd deposit down with another OPC (one of the Porsche UK owned London ones), but as it would be 2-3 months after my first order am I really going to benefit from it.

Will be interesting if you can spec Bose and LEDs yet.

LEDs are available but not LED+ due to the camera issue

LEDs, but not + (as stated, I think it's the camera that is the problem), and Bose both available to order at the moment. Fingers crossed...

Although Bose is showing on the configurator, it has an x against it, which means currently not available according to my OPC.

Who knows, my OPC have told me that they have been allowed to order it...

Anyone know when the next batch of allocations are expected?

I'm grasping at straws that one will turn up for me - I've been waiting since last March and still being told Q1 2024 which seems no hope given the recent posts that at least 3 OPCs are saying production will end this year.

Seems my only chance will be people dropping out ahead of me. I've tried phoning for cancelled orders without success and my spec is individual given it will be a keeper and probably my last new car.

I keep hoping for a call and it would be nice to know if there is a time beyond which I can put my hope this quarter to one side. Thanks.

.
I have a BGTS 4.0 order in since beginning November 21. It was a cancelled order slot (not an allocation slot obviously) with an estimated delivery date of March 23. As the time got closer at beginning of this year and still not heard anything regarding an allocation or freeze point. I went in (not for the first time in now 17 months).
My OPC thinks they will only get 2 cars this calendar year and I am second. My allocation is therefore likely to be end of 23 and possibly car end 23 / early 24 so over 2 years.
Hanging on in there that should still get one, as think the combination of size, engine and convertible is what I really want. There must be big differences with each OPC allocation but many orders most now by at high risk especially with the EV which must be getting close.
Bought a 992 S to keep me ticking over till then…
