Only a sample of 1, but when I bought mine it was 18th December and I distinctly remember driving back north from Yorkshire over the A66 in a snow flurry.

If there are buyers waiting and no cars for sale then when one pops up it will sell even with a lofty price.
I guess that makes sense,
There does however always seem to be people wanting a spyder, more so with a desirable spec.
So I guess it doesn't matter what time of year it is if it's the wrong spec.It ia good for sellers though knowing only very limited numbers will ever be for sale.
So you believe this story - above

But it's impossible to know

Yes because if there are no buyers for them if doesn't matter if you think your cars worth 60k or not it won't sell. There are buyers for them though thank god , I know 2 personally 😉

Has anyone fitted anything like these? I have found another company that says they lower the seat by 19mm.

It’s not a great difference, but I’d love to sit lower.

Also thought about getting thinner seat pads made.

I think 19mm is a lot

I went through various iterations of different buckets and different mounting hardware before I cracked the legroom problem in my 986

So if you need a bit of extra room and someone or something gives you 19mm you will definitely feel that

Seen that a few months ago? Being in N.I. probably doesn’t help, but i’d expect it to find a new home in the spring.

I think that'll be a hard sell given it's been messed about with, especially in comfort guise. I don't get why you'd go to that extreme and expense in a Spyder. It'd certainly be on the list for a rev range check.

Can’t see why being in the north of Ireland would be an issue? We have electricity, dial up internet and a ferry crossing once a week to Britain in the summer.
I’m not a fan of the modifications to the car, but there is a bum for every seat.

I always treat any collector/buyer as looking for any reason not to buy a car-could be anything whether it’s mods or history or indeed being on craggy island.

If something is the right car however, it wouldn’t matter where something was I’d be on it like a tramp on chips, you only need that one buyer.

It isn’t so much needing the extra room, i’m 5’10, I just like to sit as low as possible in any car.

I think getting a little lower in the Spyder will make a big difference. I’ll then also restart getting a thinner pad.

I think you should notice a change of 19mm

I got my seat so low in my 986 the steering wheel felt too high - no up or down adjustment

I was using BBI mounts [and sliders] which give you lots of holes to choose from and simple recaro pole position buckets

If you can live without the BBI sliders you might gain a few more mm on top but I didn't need to

The other mounts I tried weren't as good and added a side mount type plate to the standard Porsche sliders which are quite chunky

The pay off is the Porsche sliders slide much better and the BBI are a bit clunky to operate
