The white one agree looks lower, nice though, but bucket seats not for me thanks, and im not really bothered about PCCB's and Porsche dealers esp my local one would just love to say these need replacing i am sure.

Arctic grey wanting top dollar for it, but oh dear, i get it they wanted to go with the Yellow caliper PCCB theme, but yellow clocks stitching and belts not for me thanks.
Why not buy a GTS4.0?

Buckets for me are essential on a Spyder, ideally along with a manual gearbox

I'd agree with this. The buckets, if you get on with them are something special

I’ve had two 718Spyders, the first a manual with buckets the second a PDK with 18ways. The second car was specified after a year or so with the first one so it righted the wrongs of the first one for me. The second car was a much nicer spec for putting miles on. The heated 18 way seats were way more comfortable especially for longer trips and lost nothing in lateral location to the buckets. I did track the first one but found it a bit lacking in precision over the closed cars, GT4 and later a GT4RS. So for me it’s a road car and in that context heated comfort seats and PDK are superior.
But each to their own and it’s great to have a choice.

So did my first one. The best seat Porsche ever made. The folding LWB with seat heating. It was a very sad day for me when those got dropped. grumpy

I gather you have driven a GTS4.0 the front end, in fact the whole car feels very bland in comparison, i test drove one for half a day and left uninspired, only the engine sound was nice but that was it. Spyder different league.

I did which is why I went for a Spyder, but if you want super sharp handling then it really justifies the buckets as opposed to comfort seats,,,,,,

Ok thats interesting its quite a different animal to the GT4.0 is'nt it.
Yes my friend has the GT4 and insists the same as you, however on days im not hooning the asss off it and out for a leisurely drive with the wife i dont want to be in buckets we are middled aged it doesnt feel right.
The two Spyders i have driven pretty hard were adaptive sports plus 18way with alcantara i felt pretty hooked in. I have a 997 C2S also and yes those seats no matter how much i try and deshine the leather etc i never feel right in them, akin to a slippery bath tub with a seat belt.

I did have a 992 with Sports plus seats in that also and always felt ok in them.

i am avg height so dont feel too high in them. I get you though the buckets have that edge i am sure.

I’d buy what suits you. I could never get comfortable in the buckets - beautiful and firm holding that they were

Went 18 ways in GTS 4.0 and then in Spyder, and haven’t regretted it. It all comes down to what you prefer

Seats are very personal, not just in terms of fit/comfort but also in how you use the car. The only Porsche seats I can't get on with are the 18 ways - despite the high adjustability, I've never found them as comfortable as the 4 ways and they do seem to sit higher

This is why I ended up with buckets. The 18 ways are slightly too high. The buckets are special, but I can see how people also won't like them.

The best thing to do is drive a car with the different seats in.

Still waiting for a decent Spyder to crop up so many blighted with red interiors or strange coloured options, were all original Spyder owners colour blind?

I know lets have a silver or black car and yeah lets go for a red roof and or yellow clocks because i have PCCB's yeah and lets throw some yellow door straps in there. Leave the configurator alone.

You wouldn't be a fan of my 991.1 turbo S cab then.
I nearly bought a silver Spyder with red/black interior before deciding on the 991 too! :-)

On the A26 north of Uckfield this morning, I saw the rustiest Spyder ever to have left the factory, or a lovely Spyder in a 'rat look' wrap. As I was driving, and going in the opposite direction, there was no chance of a photo.

Another new Spyder on the market today oh silver ok, and lets check that interior bourdeaux red.. fantastic, its like previous Ferraris owners flipped to buying a Spyder and applying their colour palette to them.

Can i ask about buckets, what about in the winter, don't you miss them not being heated? I found heated 18ways crucial in my prev Targa for winter roof down driving.

Yes, I do miss them being heated, but I can live without it. Given the choice of being a less comfy, too high, but warm seat, or something that's very comfy and bit colder. I went with colder.

You can get a 3rd party heated pad I believe, but I didn't look into it too far.

Otherwise, the folding heated buckets are the middle ground, but still suffer from the height issue for me.

Anyone here just reserved this one?

https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en-GB/details/porsch...

Spec looks great

Mine also just clicked past 14k. Feels just fine. They're very well made (apart from PADM mounts)

Ha was just looking at the buckets in this but no not me. Yes both cars i test drove had PADM errors on dash one before i even drove and one after!
