Can anybody reccomend a supplier for the seat inserts.
Hopefully worth a look. Haven't used them myself (yet) but I've saved the link to the website based on recommendations I've read elsewhere.https://www.classicfx.net/porsche-seat-covers/

Heated pads off ebay work a charm too and are an easy and popular mod.
Definitely join Craig's Spyder club.
ALOT of useful info gets chatted about there...
I'm also in the 'looking to buy' category. I've been mulling this back and forward for quite a while as the Alpine would have to go and I absolutely love it, although I may just try and find a way to keep it!
GT Silver, PDK, PCCB would be perfect for me and I'd be happy with either the basic seats or the buckets

I've come from an A110 and have no regrets. Very different but equally as good (although I didn't enjoy the PDK in the Spyder). GT Silver, PDK, PCCB would be perfect for me and I'd be happy with either the basic seats or the buckets

I started off as manual, i am only swayed well for two reasons but i am not sure still.GT Silver, PDK, PCCB would be perfect for me and I'd be happy with either the basic seats or the buckets

My initial review on this thread was a Manual i test drove on a very wet rainy day and i absolutely loved it and that manual gearbox.
I think my only slight change in preference to PDK is oh on those 'moments' where two hands on the wheel are possibly saving you from a bigger moment, but you do lose some interaction with the car, long journeys for exmple cruising to france etc for driving hols makes that part of the journey easier with PDK and the wife can take it on days out doesnt like manual.
That aside i love my current 997.1 for just that reason being manual.
PCCB i absolutely dont get, i am heavy on brakes i did find the steel brakes on a GTS4.0 get a bit smokey on a heavy test drive but not on the Spyder. I would spend my whole time worrying my Ceramics would die and i would be footing a massive bill, if i was tracking a car maybe more but Spyder is a fast road car, GT Silver nice colour on the Spyder it just works agree.

Ah yes i saw your thread you shared about your journey to your new Spyder (congrats by the way i did 'Spy' this one for a while, lovely example) Intrigued what you said about manual, agree somewhat, the manual does feel so engaging, it's what i always missing in my last 992 which was PDK, i still have a 997.1 which is manual, but always vowed anything faster or more power i would buy pdk for the 'two hands on the wheel' factor. How you getting on with it, still enjoying it? Anything new you love/dislike about it?
I can't wait to get mine, i still have idea what i will end up with as for the moment all i ever see is White white red white white and or the odd one with red stitched interiors, the original Spyder Spawners had strange colour palette preferences!
Re the seat heightr i am intrigued are you tall am i just poorly enlightened, do the folding buckets/18 ways sit too high in the car?

The basic seats do sit lower - how much I don't know, but I'm 6'4 so don't want to sit any higher. I've never tried the 18 ways, but I've never found the basic seats lacking for meHow you getting on with it, still enjoying it? Anything new you love/dislike about it?

Yes, I'll very much enjoying it. Although it's not been the weather to get the most out of the car to be fair. So far, the only thing that annoys me is the handbrake, I either forget to engage / disengage it, or when I remember I get the direction I need to press wrong. Other than that, I'm loving every moment of it so far. How you getting on with it, still enjoying it? Anything new you love/dislike about it?

For the seats, I'm 6ft, but have very long thighs (which is a nightmare in many different places) and so I like for a seat to be able to go down and back a long way. I tested cars with the 18 way, fixed buckets and folding buckets. Both the 18 way, and the folding buckets sat slightly too high for me. The issue is that if the seat doesn't go low, my knees end up right by the steering wheel, the fixed buckets get very low, and this was pretty much a deal breaker for me. The good news is that they are wonderful seats in their own right, and whilst are not the easiest to get in and out of, they add to the special nature of the car.
How's the search going for you?

Thanks for the update and glad to hear all is going well and no major issues concerns. Indeed the weather isn't best, if anything it seems we are suffering more n more with flooding each year. Saying that when i test drove the last Spyder 718 it was in the wet, and wow i loved it, had some much confidence, way more out the box over my 997 although not hard i guess if you've driven one, they are an experience to start with! Loved how well the Spyder rotates so confidence inspiring in low traction conditions lots of feedback, and no surprises.
Its not going well, i sorta regret not going for a manual silver a while back, it was a beauty, the dealer selling it really put me off, i don't like being called 'mate' when engaging a salesman on a car of this calibre, also i have sort of switched lanes to PDK for my wife to drive also, wether or not i made the right decision there not sure, as of today less whites generally now but still v limited, eg blacks whites reds blues and i dont want bucket seats and red interiors or bright yellow seabelts and tachos (although i know i can get these changed). Even thought about a wrap, as i love that Oak green one on the vids here, rare as rocking horse though i am sure, as i watched one of Craigs Spyder videos and even there, most are either GT Silver, Car White, Black, G,Red, Shark Blue and Yellow, with a v smaller share of other colurs in the mix etc. Not a massive variation! (and then you have the crazy Spyder owners wanting to 'jazz up' their interiors with a flare of some bizarre colour.)
Ive noticed the cars are starting to turn over a bit more, saying that Porsche used cars has dropped to 6, autotrader to 18, i have an automated script that trawls alot of areas and gives me a daily report via Alexa every morning to really start my day.
I have to have one soon as i am on a driving week across europe in a few months, i have a 997 but i don't want to take that esp if its sunny, id rather not do a hard top on beautiful sunny days(ok i know that sounds a bit petulant) worse case i shall buy one that at least ticks the most important boxes and trade it in when the right one comes along.

Do they go that low on standard suspension? Looks very low at the front, arch gap is minimalThis PDK one just came on sale. Very expensive, but great spec to my eyes. I'm guessing list would have been c.£105k

Arctic grey wanting top dollar for it, but oh dear, i get it they wanted to go with the Yellow caliper PCCB theme, but yellow clocks stitching and belts not for me thanks.
