I wouldn’t be a fan of the colour combination, I think GT cars suit bolder colours, but it will be someone else’s perfect car.

I really liked the green car that sold yesterday.

Pricing is all over the place. Some have £1000 finance contribution. Some have different APR on the same finance product.

The black clubsport I posted earlier has sat there for over four months and still over-priced IMO. The perfect spec and well priced car I enquired about sold in four days.

Viewing a car tomorrow that ticks all the boxes at an independent Porsche retailer.

I thought to add a Porsche warranty, it was an 111 point check at OPC, then purchase the warranty. The vendor said they're happy to facilitate any inspection but they said that Porsche need to service it before they'll warranty it.

Has anyone had the experience of adding a Porsche warranty to a car not purchased through an OPC?

Edit - Phoned Porsche.

I need to have owned the car for 90 days then they'll service it to bring everything up to date. The 111 point inspection is extra but half price at £207.

Porsche warranty (and Porsche Assistance)
One year £920 (£232)
Two years £1600 (£392)
Three years £2250 (£535)

If the last service was at a OPC then you only need the 111 point check.

I assume it’s been out of network serviced? Also as a warning/note you need to get anything advised by the OPC at service sorted before they’ll add warranty. So check the tyres, pads and discs prior to going for service as these are the big ticket items that can bite.

I bought my car from an indi that had only ever been serviced by Porsche. The car came with the indi warranty but tbh the indi warranty is nowhere near as comprehensive as a Porsche one.

Once the indi warranty expired I paid £360 for the 111 inspection and had the car serviced at the same time then added the Porsche warranty.
Didn't bother with the Porsche assist as we have family cover.

My warranty renewal comes up in March and plan to renew for 2/3 years and keep the car.
Comes in at around £720 per year.
No brainer

Thought I had found the one yesterday and put a deposit down subject to a clean over-rev report.

I received a WhatsApp a few hours later with bad news and told me they'll refund my deposit.

The hunt continues.

Can you tell me the details - or even colour just so I can be wary as currently in the market.

Sure - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202602069...

It has a range 3 over-rev so not major but still over 8600rpm and a likely headache if Porsche won't warranty it and when selling on.

Would a 718 GT4 Clubsport with full spec (918 buckets, roll cage etc plus PDLS+, PCCB s, dual zone climate, BOSE, reverse camera, extended leather and PPF front end) BUT 6 previous owners (me being 7th) and previous owner won on raffle site 2 years ago put you off?

It s got full OPC history and warranty remaining, so cheap to extend. Early 2020 car with 20k miles, £67.5k.

I find in that scenario, if you have to ask, you know the answer. I know GT cars can have a lot of owners, but for me that's too many.

Yeah I think you’re right unfortunately, especially having slept on it. It’s a great car and at a great price but I can already envisage the pain of trying to eventually move it on to the 8th owner…

I guess it depends how long you are going to keep it but that is a fantastic price and spec and ticks all the boxes. I had an M2 that was a raffle car (I didnt know this until I googled the reg once I had bought it) and it was fine with no issues.

I think I would have it for 2 years and 15k miles so may even it out a bit, but still on the higher end. You’re right, it’s a great price and a seemingly great example. Decisions decisions.

Number of owners has never bothered me.

I'm always more concerned how those owners have maintained the car.

I once had an F355 with 9 previous owners but the maintenance was spot on.

I sold it no problem to the 11th owner .

Yeah that’s fair. How old was the F355 when you bought and sold though? This GT4 is only 6 years old and current owner has had it for just over 2 years, so it changed hands 5 times in less than 4 years. All within OPC network though, which is something, I guess.

It’s just the fact it’s also been to a raffle company which puts off a bit although probably irrational… Seems opinions are mixed (as usual)!

The sale of my 2010 GT3 was completed today.

I would have owned it 7 years this May so a good chunk of its total of 16 years.

It had 9 owners when I bought it 2019 and I added 1/3 of the mileage, always serviced on time a straight original paint car but it struggled to sell, JZM said they had lots of enquiries but when they said it had 10 owners people were put off.

I dropped it down to JZM mid July last year.

I was a buy on condition not owners guy but I will factor this into decision making more in the future.
