Yeah I think you re right unfortunately, especially having slept on it. It s a great car and at a great price but I can already envisage the pain of trying to eventually move it on to the 8th owner
For context a one owner from new, late 70 plate, fully loaded Gentian Blue Clubsport but with 28k miles was advertised by an OPC, so serviced up to date, clean bill of health and two years warranty remaining, for £2000 more, less than a month ago. Mark83 said:

Yeah I saw that and was about to put a deposit down as it was literally my ideal spec but the salesman sent me a walk around video up close and it looked like it had lived a hard life. Every single panel was marred/swirled or scratched, every single wheel had substantial curbing and some hefty stone chips on the front bumper and bonnet. It had never had any PPF to save it.I know the OPC would rectify most of this but it just made me question the way it had been looked after (or not it seemed). A full front end respray is both appealing and off putting, come resale. I do kind of regret not just going with it though.

We probably got the same video, just with our names changed. I know the OPC would rectify most of this but it just made me question the way it had been looked after (or not it seemed). It wasn't serviced as per Porsche's schedule so that put me off too, but again, with hindsight, I shouldn't have hesitated.

I think I was the 7th owner of my GT4 I foolishly didn t realise when I purchased it. I sold it no problem and I know it got sold on again.
I think these types of cars do have lots of owners.
What year and mileage was yours out of interest?I think these types of cars do have lots of owners.

How long have you been looking out of interest? I have had my eye on the market since November but only in a strong position to buy for a month (since selling my previous car privately).

Yeah that s fair. How old was the F355 when you bought and sold though? This GT4 is only 6 years old and current owner has had it for just over 2 years, so it changed hands 5 times in less than 4 years. All within OPC network though, which is something, I guess.
It s just the fact it s also been to a raffle company which puts off a bit although probably irrational Seems opinions are mixed (as usual)!
That's a fair point as the car was 15 years old when I bought it. It s just the fact it s also been to a raffle company which puts off a bit although probably irrational Seems opinions are mixed (as usual)!
Guessing maintenance on a 355 is the first thing you look for when buying than the number of owners.

Oh really? I didn t even get to know that. I just presumed it would ve been all good given they were selling it. It seems like we re in competition for a clean, well specced car then haha.

I'm finding cars are not serviced as per the service schedule and over sailing on time rather than mileage. That one over sailed on both but Porsche would still retail and warranty it. The black 2019 one I linked was serviced once at two years old as per the schedule, then not serviced again in five years. I spoke to Porsche who advised that so long as the servicing was brought up to date by them and passed the 111 point check, they'd still warranty it. How long have you been looking out of interest? I'm in a similar situation. I can move immediately as I don't have a car and have been actively looking since Christmas.

I’m finding similar too. It’s been surprising how many cars have missed services or are just very late, or gone outside of OPC network and it’s relatively expensive to bring them back in due to 111 check, service, N rated tyres and that’s before any potential issues are addressed. Oh and warranty is more expensive as it lapsed… Nightmare to be honest. I knew it wouldn’t be easy finding the perfect car but wow, I think I’ll be waiting a long while.I'm in a similar situation. Mine will move once we get the nod on a 992.2 Turbo. Currently has 2500 miles and is Sept 2023, full OPC Warranty to Sept 2028, it won't do many more miles really as its my runabout, Clubsport pack, PDK, Dual Climate, carbon interior, red stitching everywhere and all blacked out. It has been fully ceramic coated with a 5 year warranty and I keep it in mint condition.I bought as a stop gap to get me back into a 992.

I imagine with yours being a late 2023 car with low miles it will be out of my budget (£75k-ish)! I do have a preference for manual too.
Thanks for putting it out there though. Likewise, if any other 718 GT4 owners are looking to sell imminently, let me know as I’m looking to buy asap.
Can anyone give a view on the brakes on this car, specifically the 'green' pads being used on PCCB?
It suggests heavy track use and the fact it has been up for sale for several months may tell a story. Whilst they've been reducing the price since Nov from £84k it's still a bit toppy. Pity as it's got some good options.
Pricewise the car at Dove House seems a bargain for a low miles Clubsport with PCCB and plenty of other options for £69,900. Ordinarily I'd be in like Flint for it, but I don't like black and ideally need to move my old air cooled on before I drop on another GT4. It's missed a service albeit they've just done it.

The gentian blue doesn't have FPSH as last service was at an indy in case you're interested in adding warranty. You can, but it'll cost you in bringing the servicing up to date at Porsche and 111 point check. They have no over-rev report. The black one was serviced once at Porsche in 2021 and not been serviced since. The vendor said they'd service it prior to sale. It's on SOR and they offered to take it to Porsche for me to get it serviced up to date and warranty added until they shared the over-rev report which showed an over-rev. I have the report if you want it. There some minor scruffs in the PPF which I have photos of too.

The black car seems cheap to me and I think they've weighted in the missed service (and the over-revs) to price it. I've no intention of putting one of these cars into warranty or letting an OPC service it when I buy one as I've a very good Indy who I trust and if they're like my 981 GT4 I bought at 3yrs old and had for near 5yrs it was faultless. Whether that reduces appeal when and if I decided to sell it (planning on it to be a very long term keeper) doesn't bother me.

I went to view this and also checked through the paperwork which made me walk away, although that is because I m looking for a car I can easily stick an OPC warranty on. As another poster mentioned, its last service was at an independent. It has also had new rear pads (as you noticed), suggesting it s had a hard life. I also noticed the front tyres arent N rated (rears are). Every single tyre had seen heavy track usage, melted rubber everywhere and some scrapes to the front/rear diffusers which is to be expected. It suggests heavy track use and the fact it has been up for sale for several months may tell a story. It s also got an aftermarket exhaust of some description. They said it doesn t but the tips are completely different and purple/blue tinged (titanium maybe). It s also 2 previous owners, not 1 as they advertise. I noticed a Ninemeister sticker on the rear window but no invoices in the file so could be anything from an alignment to engine remap as they are renowned for that.
The paintwork is in surprisingly great condition with full track pack PPF, interior also great. It s just the lack of OPC history and amount of prep it would have to go through the get an OPC warranty which put me off. I do think it is slightly overpriced too, they seemed open to a deal for £77,XXX.
