which aluminum v8 for my 928 ?

hi all.
I purchased my 928 s2 years ago. it had a engine fire and they fitted a chevy v8. im thinking of pulling it and placing a fuel inj aluminium v8. thinking the chevy ls variant engines. I have the newer s4 front and rear bumpers and rear lights to put on. and will do a wider rear body with wheels to match
any advise ???

yes this is what I am thinking but thought I would get some opinions on it. there is nothing wrong with the 350 chevy in it but I can use it on another motor and think this type chassis deserves a lighter engine and efi.
a friend has a tvr and he also recommended this type engine.
so what to look for in the ls 3 ? 7? some are huge. like 6.3 l , not sure if there is a better one than other ? efi is a must.
it has the original trans auto axle at the back. are they any good ? works fine now.

Its a very well supported upgrade in america, since every other car has a chevy V8 in it.
You can buy conversion kits which include engine mounts, engine to bell housing adaptors, wiring etc,etc.
You can even buy a turnkey engine over here brand new with a warranty depending on budget.
I can see the attraction, massive choice of horsepower, even supercharged 600+ bhp, reliable and parts are cheap and easily available, a lot cheaper than porsche parts cost
