Is/was the diesel engine Audi sourced (SQ7)? I can't remember if I read somewhere that it was a joint project, but that could have been the Petrol V8 for the Turbo which is apparently going into the next S8 and RS6/7.

A Porsche dealer confirmed to me today that the V8 Diesel Panamera S has been dropped. Must be one of the shortest ever production lives of any Porsche. The dealers are really going to have to sharpen their pencils to sell their remaining stock of these. I wonder if the leasing rates indicate a poor potential residual in three years? Would be a good buy on a leasing deal (price dependant) but not one for me to buy cash to keep 7 or 8 years.
Wow. So same for the Cayenne then I assume.

Wonder if they're worried about more emissions issues ? I loved the one I test drove.

There are 46 new Panamera Diesels for sale on the Porsche website alone, the cheapest is a whisker under £90k and is a V8 (I presume they are all V8s). Doesn’t bode well for residuals and will be interesting to see how long Porsche thinks it can keep prices at that level.

Ditto! Wow, if that is correct it's a pretty big bombshell. I'm not a diesel fan but that 2017 Panamera V8 diesel is really impressive and I thought made a lot sense if they were to release it in the cayenne.
