As sports cars with a racing history isn't it time they had their own forum again? Rather than being lumped together with the er other types.......

even with barely any posts or pretty much repetitive ones they shouldn't be lumped in with 4x4 junk

I started a similar thread, it was deleted. Got an email from a nameless Mod accusing me of trolling too...rolleyes

I agree. Porsche trucks / MPV's etc. should also have their own section.

Pistonheads should bin the "Supercar General" section also.

Maybe the Porsche forum should be categorised according to weight:

(1) Athletes (<1400 kg);
(2) Salad Dodgers (1400 - 1800 kg); &
(3) Donut Munchers (1800 kg +).

Perhaps a section for:
(i) Yummy Mummy Trucks;
(ii) Geriatric Haulers; &
(iii) Rug-Rat Runabouts.

so four comments in a week, even these valuable gems would be so lost in the diesel diesel diesel diesel diesel diesel frumpy diesel 4x4 diesel cayenne macan panamera mosh pit.

come on pistonheads, recognise that from my point of view say, the 968 was one of the cars voted one of the best drivers cars ever, and get it a slot away from the school run and area manager cars please, c'mon.

It's still a 9xx maybe 9xx front and 9xx rear even 9xx x4, I'm sure the rear engine'd owners would appreciate some segregation of the types available, and the Cayman definitely deserved a spot away from the Boxster.

Perhaps we owners of the 9xx front's need to abandon the front engine section and just post in Porsche classics, it's what they are now anyway right?

I was in part responsible for PH splitting the original Porsche forum, but IMO they made a hash of it. Should be:

911/Boxster/Cayman
924/944/928/968
Four doors
GTs

Did I miss anything? I think 924GT threads etc would end up in the 924/944/928/968 section anyway.

Or us regular posters could just get into the habit of moving 924/28/44/68 discussions over to the Porsche Classics forum? I see no reason why that should be reserved for our rear-engined brethren (914 excluded!)...

Yes, I think the 924/928/944/968 models deserve their own section here, why not add a Transaxle section?

It's a bit rubbish having to share the same section as Diesel jeeps!

Hi, as a newbie to the world of Porsche ownership (S2 944 2.7) I agree with everyone about a separate category for our type of vehicles, as I'm having trouble sorting out any relevant hints and tips to do with my type of car.
we should go down the TVR route and have a separate category for each model - at least then we would know where to look!
For the immediate future I will peruse the classics section to get questions and answers and hope to chat to a few of you fellow owners soon
Cheers
Tim

As an occasional lurker here I think that would be going too far if, for example, it meant separating the 924S from the 944 (or the 924 for that matter).

I wasn't suggesting a separate listing for the 'variants' of each model, just a separation of the models - 944, 924 etc. to make it easier to find your car type when searching the site

Is it worth trying to keep this thread alive in the hope that mods will see it and act? I'd favour "Transaxles", but anything to get away from the modern stuff.

When they were new there used to be a yellow 968cs on my road.yellow cup alloys. So lush. I remember they were 28k new which was a steal as a new car. Partly to blame for my P affliction...

Seems to be falling of deaf ears, sadly.

Makes absolutely no sense to any petrolhead why we have to share a forum with diesel SUV's and hybrid saloon cars!

Sort it out PH!

Having just bought my 968 Sport I have been scrabbling around on Pistonheads to find somewhere to post about it and engage in conversation with other enthusiasts.

Having previously owned a 944S2 as well I have huge affection for the transaxle models. It's scandalous that they don't have a dedicated section on here. Seems to be 911 and 'everything else'. I used to have a beautiful 993 as well so I'm not adverse to 911s, but I still prefer my 968 wink!

Anyway - here it is. . .
