Hi Taffy and Rob,

Thank you for your very positive feedback. My next qustion was why you opted turbo rather than the e-hybrid but then Taffy you answered that question. I commute weekly across the Alps and need a 4x4 (currently drive a RR 5.0 Supercharged) but could do with somthing a little more agile hence the Sport Turismo / GTC4 question. I will have a try in a e-hybrid Sport Turismo next.

My thinking on the version I chose (standard turbo) was that it had more than adequate power and I was not too crazy about the regenerative braking on the 680hp version.

Evidently fuel is cheaper over here but I still would have opted for the standard turbo.

Just occurred to me that the diesel version will be very rare indeed given the Porsche decision to exit diesel.

Currently deciding between a Panamera Gran Tourismo or a Ferrari GTC4. I need the 4 wheel drive as I commute across the Alps every week but am undecided. They both depreciate like bricks but the Ferrari has the further to fall.
any reason is a good reason to post a snow pic ....

I really fancy one of these as a daily driver.....I absolutely cannot justify it. Might see if my OPC fancies sharpening their pencil at quarter end....

Curious on your choice of tires. In Canada winter can be fearsome and many provinces require full winters. I have winter rims and tires for all cars i don’t store.

Full winter tyres on the Range Rover and chains in the boot - just in case. You don't want to be stuck on a mountain pass in minus 20 degrees. Occasionally the Carabinieri check cars for chains in order to allow you to drive on.

The only reason i go hybrids is as a s/e sole trader i can recoup a very substantial %age of the purchase price against income tax..If i was a wholly private user i would choose the 550hp turbo.
If i could afford an GTC/4 its what i would get, however as a daily i'd sweat blood at the thought of funding the horrendous fuel bill.

Winter tyres (only one set of rims for winter and summer) but no chains for me - don’t think I have ever used chains - must try harder I guess

I appreciate the tax incentive on the hybrid is a large factor when deciding what to get but it could be the right choice given, that municipalities are about to impliment "no drive" zones for polluting cars and then the e-hybrid would come in handy. Is it any fun to drive ?

Regarding the fuel bill on the GTC4, I drive a 5 litre SC Range Rover, so I believe I am hardened in terms of fuel consumption.

Ah. Makes sense. Am wondering if I will hit any restrictions in Europe this Autumn though the car will be on Canadian plates and there is typically some tolerance. Still , it’s not a diesell so I doubt if I will be mailed in the first wave of restrictions smile

if the GTC consumption is anywhere close to the FF then you will be surprised how much fuel it can go through in anything apart from highway driving at say 80mph constant speed - it still surprises me sometimes after about 40k km of driving

for now I think only Diesels will be impacted and then only at certain times in certain cities - at least that is what I gathered from the announcement today. It is only a matter of time though - at minimum I expect some type of congestion charge ala London in the medium term / only called pollution charge or some such instead

That wouldn’t be my choice ! Although I do like the dark green. Will PTS be available on a Penny ?

I have not seen it though I tried for coloured cross stitching and it was not available. Obviously there is the individual program which is very expensive. Someone just got a New GT3 here in Irish green with LWBs in houndstooth. For instance.

I am lucky enough to be taking delivery of a GT3 myself next month so aware of ludicrous CXX pricing! Didn’t partake of the proper off piste options. Yellow steering wheel marker was £2500.

A dark green Panny with the very dark brown leather interior you can spec would look the dogs danglies,

Buy a Mark 1, Cheib. They are 95% as good and 30-35% of the price.

Logically you are right.
However ,shallow as it most certainly is, the station wagon just looks so much better to me and is the first Pana I bought or even considered.
