Dear Fellow Pistonheaders

I was at Purely Porsche today and saw this for sale : https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

I am looking for a nice 944 and this is immaculate with a superb service history. The seller is an absolute gentleman and the car has had significant work undertaken over the last few months. In short it is a peach. But.....

Always but !

I am in a slight dilemma as 944 prices seem, ahem, a bit random at present. For example:

https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C976394
https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C993454
http://marpolvehicles.co.uk/index.php/view-stock/2...

I have a 993 already and I think i have a good idea of the 993 market place but I am really struggling with 944s. I would appreciate any thoughts on pricing from PHeaders on the car I am interested in and also your best 'crystal ball gazing' on future values

I also have one specific question. I have never seen this pinstripe interior before. It is absolutely perfect with the outside side bolster in leatherette but is it a 944 design?

Thanks everyone

Regards

S

In my many years posting on PH I have nearly always found the community to be polite, very helpful and friendly.

Which is why it saddens me to find your odious trolling below. If you have nothing useful to add .. please don't.

Not an expert on these but that does seem a top asking price of £1400, looks like maybe one of the first oval dash models.
Having said that the combination of immaculate condition, excellent history, and low mileage are extremely good selling points esp these days.
If it doesn't need any real money spent on it for ages and you don't plan to do huge miles it may be a decent buy.
Only slight negative I see is you would be the 8th owner, but I guess in 30 years that's not really that unusual.

I've posted on the PH 944 forums for many years, you turn up here with your speculator crap, and now you're trying to chase me away with a 'trolling' insult. I don't think so. Idiot.

Dear oh dear ... you are SO lacking in manners and basic politeness. A simple question and your best response is abuse and rudeness.

So if you have been on 944 Forums for years how about giving me the benefit of your advice instead of just calling me an 'idiot' and my post 'crap'?

Go to the Finance section if you want informed opinions on speculating. There has generally been more supply than demand for top money 944's. So, spend big now and come back in a couple years and let us know how you did.
