Here it is - its amarath rather than amethyst

Seems there was a PH thread on it: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=11...

Those buckets are aftermarket Recaros, I think that car is a Sport.

There's a lot of 944 in a 968 though wink. I went to buy a 968 Coupe from a P'boro Indy nearly 15 years ago. Got there and he tried to jack the price up by a grand.
Did you buy it?

no one is denying that fact, this whole thread is about customers getting ripped off buying what was originally registered as a UK sport badged and stickered up as a Clubsport,

not the merits of 944 over 968 or how many parts were shared, or anything else, All FE cars are just great and there is just no need to get into all that,

Just to be contrarian, I had a "real" CS - M139 MNC (current owner is on here) which was Amethyst and I assume a PTS special order. It also had comfort seats and (iirc) a sunroof.............sold it to a mate for £13k in about 2003 with 57k on it as I'd bought a 996 and it wasn't getting used much. Top of my list of cars I should have kept!
I still own the above car and having done plenty of research its definately a clubsport.
Still only got 78k on it and Ive restored it and rebuilt the engine.
Love it .

Thats my car . It is a clubsport . Not the one referred to in the post above as its mileage is nowhere near the one discussed and has a full dealer history .
That picture was from Porkers in the peaks last summer. My beetle in the background as well with Porsche engine

Nice shiny red 968 CS here, and I'm pretty sure it's not a Sport ;-) . £38k. Low miles but LHD, written off, exported and later reimported. I'm sure it's a good car, and it may be that the claim was when these were not worth much. The market has definitely moved up though if someone can ask this.

I've seen the docs for the red lhd cs and its history is very scant.

It is a nice car but no Japan history whatsoever so very difficult to verify the starting odometer reading was correct. Also periods where it has moved and the odometer reading is still the same. I suspect it had a dodgy odometer as there is reference to it being fixed later. I have seen electrical issues with the odo motor which means it does a mile or so and then stops on other cars.

Also no documentation of the accident damage or the repair. Just a certificate certifying the chassis number is correct rather than a full inspection.

Just my 2p and anyone interested should make their own mind up. Personally I think it is too much for something with no history before 2008 and little afterwards and a cat c marker.

Quite - I'm looking at selling my Sport shortly (high miles but no insurance marker), and it will be less than 40% of the price of that one. Strange market!

Guess it came with Sport seats if you/someone has fitted aftermarket buckets? Was it the 4star car? If not I guess there are 3 CS in that colour - I have to say its a great colour I love it.

No mate it was a private sale. The previous owner fitted the cage and the seats to do track days. It had sports seats from the factory.
Very comprehensive history file so and lowish miles for the year. I have pretty much replaced everthing that was worn out or looking tatty and ended up fitting KW variant 3 coil overs to improve the ride.
Have personalised it a bit .

Historic worldwide auction pricing for people looking.

The black 66k silverstone car was in the Porsche competition. It would amuse me if it was actually a Sport originally. I suspect it was a MY93 registered late though as it has windy windows.

So, a car starts out as a CS at the factory, but has LUX options added to turn into a Sport for the UK market. Today it is worth less than a car that started out as a CS at the factory, and had some LUX options added at the factory. The VIN say CS for both, but a badge matters, so gullible buyers will pay £thousands more, essentially for the missing bits.
That's the madness.

Yep got the same certificate saying Club Sport on my Sport. All Sports started out life as a Club Sport over in Germany.

Here's one from Collecting Cars

https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/1994-porsche-9...

This car was eventually bought by some dealer in Essex at auction but has since disappeared.

The seats changed in the CS around March 93 so you could look at it that the 993RS had 968CS seatssmile

I dont know if the early 964 Speedster had the same issue with sprung v unsprung seats. They show as sprung in the brochure and both were launched at the same time (Oct92). There were perhaps supply issues with Recaro.

Model year 1993 (Build date Oct92-July93) is CUP1 wheels and NO option to put rear seats in the car (wp0zzz96zps815xxx)
Model year 1994 onwards (Approx Sept93 onwards) CUP2 wheels (wp0zzz96zrs815xxx, wp0zzz96zss815xxx)
Or you could fit a pair of 968 CS seats into your 993 RS (just as I did) smile
