Buying and owning a Macan
Discussion
Sorry, I know similar questions have been asked and answered recently...
I've never owned a Porsche, I've always wanted to, I'm a working-class Lad who's going to be 50 in a few years.
There's are no 911's in budget I'd fancy driving every day. The Panamera and Cayenne don't appeal, I'd like a Cayman, wouldn't be practical enough.
I lease my cars but based on a payment of less than £700 a month, I'm looking at an endless supply of nice, low mileage 2.0 cars from dealers and fewer, but equally nice 3.0S cars with a few more miles, 30k-40k, all about 4/5 years old.
After opinions on:
Is the 2.0 decent enough for a daily? It's got less power than the Golf R I'm currently running which doesn't bother me per-se but are they worth is other than Badge appeal.
Was there a refresh during 2021? Some of the later cars I'm looking at look a bit shapeless, missing some of the details of the 2020 cars.
Is the S thirsty for a daily? I do about 12k miles a year.
What's maintenance like? On the face of it, they seem similar to my Golf. Service parts are the same, brake parts the same, if not cheaper on the 2.0. Gearbox and Diff services every few years.
Any options that 'make all the difference?' I don't mean options the make-or-break resale, but things that really enhance the experience.
