Great cars i this thread...IMI A your RS looks fantastic, I spent the last year or sol sorting my one out!

The Tuthill builds are absolutely perfect, In fact Im going to sell my 993 and seriously look into it, I expect the build cost is massive? I would want LHD 2.8 RSR.. perfect!!

^^^ unfortunately I'm not the owner but I agree what a very special car having had the delight to drive her when in the UK - real credit to owner who went mad with the mods - I'd take the RS badge off personally doesn't need it wink

I do like that one a lot. I know they are wide and antisocial, but they do look great...

Technically no I live overseas nowadays. Yes she's amazing for a rep. Also old owner may well be buying her back as he's missing her...

I think every 993/964 should be sent to 9m for a 3.8 upgrade based on experience with the Yellow Peril not that the 3.6 units are underpowered or anything far from it but the way YP's powertrain sings to 7300rpm is incredible. Not sure what exhaust the old owner has put on buts its a masterpiece in being civil when driving normally but making all sorts of pops and bangs when driving a bit more aggressively.

The 72 RS Touring is the only real RS I've driven and money no object I'd still pick Yellow hence can't really give a bigger compliment to the guys that built her. Another PH member will soon be spending some time with her and he owned a real 993 RS for a while which also had its engine rebuilt by 9m so it will be very interesting to see what he thinks of YP as I don't have any seat time in a real one. I expect his real 993 RS much lighter than YP but we shall see smile

My 3.6 engine is stock and its strong.. so no need to do anything at the moment, but should I decide to, a 3.8 would be a cool upgrade for sure, be interested to feel the difference.

Here's mine just completed this week. I've ruined it by modifying an 82 SC, backdating it and fitting a 3.6 Varioram. And I love it.

Not a lot more to tell. I bought it 7 years ago just before prices went mental. It was a 150k mile, tired, rattly, mildly rusty SC, but I've had a few and knew what I was buying. It's been a long road, but what I've ended up with is this car.

Varioram pulling 303bhp when rolling road mapped.
915 rebuilt plus a Quaife ATB.
Suspension is standard torsion bars with Bilstein Street Sports shocks all round.
Brakes are new, standard discs and calipers with Mintex M1166 pads.
All rot was cut out with new panels (kidney bowls, inner wings, sills, wings, bumpers, etc).

I agonised a long time over whether to keep it an impact bumper or to backdate. Eventually the draw of having a car that looked similar to a £150k classic, with the power to weight of a 996 GT3RS, that I can drive whenever I like without worrying about values, depreciation or rust was too much. Every item on the car has been hand picked because I like it.

Bumper trims are 1966.
Front bumper and wings are 1972.
Rear wings are original SC and wider than a 72 should be.
Rear bumper corners are 73RS to match the SC rear flares.
Front hood is my original SC one extended in steel to make it longhood.
Engine lid is a 964.
Moveable spoiler is custom to give it a bit of a ducktail without being fixed or OTT.
Interior is mostly SC, but the seats are 964 Sports as they are the comfiest 911 seats I've ever sat in.
The whole interior has been bespokely retrimmed with tan leather and cream houndstooth centres.

There's lots of other stuff not worth mentioning, but those are the main bits.

I absolutely love this approach !

Building one that suits your exact needs and not trying to make it something it’s not is exactly what I am trying to do with my 993 on a smaller scale.

Hats of to you
