Would make such good base for a hot rod or just leave as is and enjoy pottering around country lanes wink

"1973 2.4 T non sunroof car. The bodywork was fully dismantled, repaired and re-painted in its original Bahia Red factory colour whilst exterior trim was refurbished and replaced with original parts as required. The car’s interior was also returned to its factory finish plus D’Eser replica Recaro seats, sports steering wheel and modern retro Blaupunkt radio with MP3 connectivity. Steering and suspension were also both fully refreshed, along with the ‘S’ braking system and Bilstein rear and Koni front shock absorbers. The original 915 gearbox was rebuilt and a limited slip differential was fitted, whilst the original engine was bored out to an increased capacity of 2.8-litres with modern cams and refurbished triple-choke Weber carburettors (200 BHP). "

As soon as I sell my 993 I want to get something like this... 2.8.. wow I bet its rapid!!

More brisk than rapid compared to most cars on this thread ! Engine somewhere between 2.4S and 2.7RS and lovely to drive on the road. Fun car to drive at sensible speeds.

Came across something similar a few years ago with a 964 engine on carbs in it and it was bloody scary as you just didn't trust the suspension and brakes enough. Resto mods are difficult to get right as the red car above is still beautifully balanced and all feels in sync whereas the 964 engined car did not. The 964 engine car really needed coil suspension and 930 brakes to be a decent car which would ruin the red car.

Have a look at Number 27 on youtube. Well known car. Cat d wouldn't bother me if its sorted and drive like a C2 should. Its modified to rwd and hot rod spec.

Not sure if it’s just me, but I’m struggling to see how Tuthill justify £300k plus in that 911E ??
It sure looks pretty, but £300K pretty, I’m not convinced. At that figure I’d want something very special with 2.5 short stroke high or low butterfly MFi engine, or a very punchy (350hp) 3.5 EFi Carrera 3.2 based motor, and a set of their ExeTC dampers.
But maybe I’m very out of touch with the prices of these early aircooled restomods ?

I've loved Jensen Interceptors since i was a kid in the early 70s and this one seems a particularly nice conversion with the new interior. updated brakes etc plus a 550BHP engine..I can see where the £300K has gone on it however i can't see where the same amount of money has gone on the 911E especially considering that the engine etc has been left original.
My favourite out of the three is the Alfa although i prefer the one shown recently on a separate thread.

The 911 is owned by an Instagram'er and the build had a very different brief. This is the Tuthill press release on it and you can then follow the Instagram link to see more https://www.tuthillporsche.com/blog/latest-tuthill...

Interesting. Thanks for that smile

Though I have to say the mere mention of the word Instagram and corporate BS such as "A creative technology pioneer who develops products that help reinvent consumer engagement and interaction on a global scale" had me running for the hills biggrin

But I digress .... to quote you "the build had a very different brief" What was that brief ? To empty the owner's wallet in the most efficient manner possible ? ? If that were the case, it's a win for consumer engagement and interaction (with their bank account) on a truly epic (and dare I say, global) scale wobble

Regrettably, and despite the flowery prose, I'm no wiser as to how/why the car is worth anything like £300 large.... confused

I’m not the only one that thought that 911 was expensive when I saw that vid.....wish they’d chosen a Tuthill of similar purpose to the GTA-R, I’d have loved a video comparing those. The Alfa seems to have got stupidly expensive too....last I hear/read the top spec GTA-R price began with a 2 not a 4 !

£190,000+VAT+donor was quoted by Chris Harris so that would get you somewhere close to 300large. Alfaholics conversions are somewhat bespoke though, akin to Singer where no two are the same; so maybe that is where they are getting the 400 figure from, the potential to ramp up the costs with fairy wings and unicorn fur.
