Hi people, I'm new on here and after a bit of advice... I run a small garage and I sell a few cars, I'm currently trying to do a deal on a car where I take a 1988 Porsche 924S in part exchange but I have no idea about 924's!
The car is in great condition, has covered 94,000 miles, been in the same family since it was 2 years old, full service history, finished in burgundy with cream cloth. Has anyone got an idea on how I value such a thing? Any input would be gratefully received!

Difficult to say. £3-4k depending on condition. If it needs any bodywork then much less.

Bodywork is perfect, it had new front wings a few years ago as well as a respray. I thought around that figure... thanks for getting back to me.

I'd say a little more, good examples, especially an 88 would be over £5k
However at that mileage and age I would be looking to see that the belts had been done recently,
If it had had fairly recent clutch and top end rebuild then £6k

Are we talking retail values here?

Agreed an '88 car is better, but would anyone be paying over £5k for one?

I like them a lot, but 3-4k would be more likely IMO

The bodywork might be perfect now, but the fact it has had wings and a respray would put some people off.

They want "totally original, never messed with" but aren't prepared to pay for the "perfect" car.
