Stunning but not quite right? Still looked great!

So what is this? On a tax check it comes back as a Porsche. But the interior is wrong for a 1955 356 speedster.

I don't that it isa Chesil. Car was immaculate but it just didn't seem right to me - the engine sounded wrong - definitely air cooled but not old school Porsche or VW.

The dials are very different to anything I've seen be it original or recreation.

was this in / around Ashridge estate at the weekend ?

That is an original 356 Speedster, it has the correct interior and the dials are correct, I’m not sure what you have looked at in the past, maybe that was a replica, but this definitely is an original.

The handbrake in under the dash, not between the seats, the windows are slot in not wind up, the steering wheel is correct for period, the interior has definitely been re done with new leather but the seats are correct as is everything else
