Neil Bainbridge at BS Motorsport near Bicester. He looked after my 2.7RS, my ‘73 race car and my 964 for 5 years and became a real mate not just a mechanic. Ex racer (and a good one)...incredibly knowledgeable (especially air cooled), straight talking and disinterested in investor types.
Now looks after some of the most exotic Porsche machinery out there. Offers race support, travels the world sourcing special cars and rare parts for his customers.
Oh and lost an arm in a bike accident some years ago so plenty of opportunities for top quality p1ss taking about how long he takes to get things done.

I would recommend Jaz in St.Albans, but may be further than you want to go (similar distance to JZM in Kings Langley or RPM in Tring).
Jaz certainly know their air cooled cars.
Jaz are new to me, thanks.Jaz certainly know their air cooled cars.

Some fine cars turned up on their last open day.

This was exactly the kind of answer I was looking for, although I have had a wealth of responses here and all of this information is greatly valued !Now looks after some of the most exotic Porsche machinery out there. As said above, thank you so much to everyone who took a moment to respond. The information returned is of great value to me.
I like the sound of BS Motorsport, Jaz, and Steve Bull has also been recommended today by somebody I know. Unless anyone comes back to endorse anyone else mentioned here, I shall begin with looking more closely at this 3 for the time being.

Autofarm are a good company. Too expensive for me but can’t fault my experience of their work. You could also try www.tuthillporsche.com in Banbury. Just within your 100 miles I think.
Hi, nice collection you have.
If you really want a "personal" service then try MR Performance, just north of Wilton.
Mike has been looking after my for 964 C2 for the past 16 years (including a complete engine rebuild) and what he don't know about aircooled Porsche isn't really worth knowing. In fact Bournemouth Porsche OPC often uses him for many of the older cars simply because their techs don't have the knowledge.
Top guy, who has owned many of the 2.7RS to come in to the UK. Last time I was there he was in the middle of rebuilding a 1968 Targa - lovely.

I wasn't sure where Corsham was but checked distance and I'm sure you could do a lot worse than calling Chris Denning in Cardiff if you don't mind nipping into Wales. To be honest I'm new to Porsche so no experience of others, but he's been fantastic at looking after mine and works on new and old models. Thoroughly nice chap. Looks like it's 60 odd miles from you. But then you're close to some really good roads once here of course.
